Alumier MD: The New Smart Peel For Natural And Regenerated Beauty

Alumier MD: The New Smart Peel For Natural And Regenerated Beauty

Reading time: 4 minutes By Dr. Alice Magri, Specialist in Maxillofacial Surgery at Image Regenerative Clinic In recent years, the concept of beauty has evolved. More and more people are seeking visible yet natural results, effective treatments that respect the skin, smart and non-invasive solutions. This is the foundation of our philosophy: enhancing authentic beauty through personalized, regenerative, and integrated programs. And today, I want to tell you about an innovation that perfectly reflects this approach: the professional peeling by Alumier MD. What is Alumier MD and why I recommend it Alumier MD is much more than a simple peel. It’s a scientifically formulated treatment that combines high-performance active ingredients with a tailor-made skincare philosophy. Each peel is customized based on the patient’s skin type, sensitivity, and aesthetic goals, making it the ideal component of a complete regenerative journey. Unlike traditional peels, Alumier MD doesn’t attack the skin but guides it through a controlled process of exfoliation and cellular renewal. The skin appears firmer, brighter, and more even. And that’s the key: visible yet never artificial results. A synergistic treatment with advanced technologies and injectables One of the aspects we most appreciate about Alumier MD is its perfect compatibility with other advanced aesthetic treatments. In our clinical practice, we like to work in a multi-focus way, combining different technologies in synergistic sessions, always respecting the physiology and harmony of the face. Here are some combinations we often recommend to our patients: Fractional radiofrequency with microneedles: enhances skin firmness and structure by stimulating deep collagen production. When combined with Alumier MD peeling, you get a dual effect: surface renewal and deep tissue regeneration. Fractional CO₂ laser: ideal for scars, enlarged pores, and uneven texture. Pre-treating the skin with Alumier enhances responsiveness, reduces downtime, and optimizes final results. Injectable treatments (biostimulators, skinboosters, soft fillers): while Alumier MD’s active ingredients even out tone and refine texture, injectables restore targeted volume and hydration, always maintaining a natural look. This type of combined, gentle, and targeted approach defines our philosophy: achieving visible but never excessive results. The natural look is not a compromise, but an ambitious goal that requires expertise, a holistic vision, and the smart use of cutting-edge technologies. Summer? The best time to prepare... for autumn Many people believe aesthetic treatments should be paused during summer. We, instead, believe that summer preparation is the perfect springboard to enter autumn with stronger, more receptive, and balanced skin. A light protocol with modulated peels like Alumier MD, paired with biostimulating and non-photosensitizing treatments, allows skin to remain active and healthy even in the warmer months, avoiding the "forced pause" effects that often lead to skin deterioration. It’s a smart approach: starting in summer with gentle, progressive treatments means you can intensify in autumn with lasers, radiofrequencies, and more energizing protocols, on skin that’s already regenerated, firm, and ready to respond better. In this way, results are multiplied and consolidated over time. A beauty built around you The Alumier MD peel fits perfectly into personalized skin regeneration programs. It’s ideal: as a preparatory step for medical or laser treatments as maintenance for those already on a regenerative protocol as a targeted solution to improve tone, pigmentation, fine lines, texture, and radiance Each program is tailor-made, assessing not only skin condition but also lifestyle, habits, and personal goals. Healthy skin is skin that regenerates The Alumier MD peel is not just an aesthetic treatment. It’s a choice for prevention and wellness, a conscious gesture to care for your skin over time by stimulating cell turnover, fighting oxidative damage, and boosting collagen production. Choosing a protocol that integrates peeling + technologies + soft injectables means enhancing your skin from multiple angles—in a respectful, modern, and scientifically grounded way. And above all, it means choosing a beauty that evolves with you, authentically. If you too want to rediscover healthier, firmer, and more radiant skin—without altering your natural beauty—come visit us at the clinic. Together, we’ll build your personalized program. Botox, the Springtime of Your Skin: Freshness, Radiance, and Harmony

Botox, the Springtime of Your Skin: Freshness, Radiance, and Harmony

There is a special energy that comes with this time of the year: spring. The first rays of sunshine warm the skin, the air is filled with the scent of renewal and lightness, and as nature awakens, we naturally feel the desire for freshness, radiance, and vitality. It is the season when we long to refresh ourselves, to shed the signs of winter fatigue, and to rediscover a more relaxed and serene face. And this is precisely the ideal time for a treatment that naturally revitalizes and enhances facial harmony: Botox. Springtime for Your Face: Why Is Botox the Perfect Treatment for This Season? Just as spring is the season of renewal, Botox is the treatment that allows the face to blossom, freeing itself from tension and the tired expressions that winter has left behind. After months of cold weather, dull skin, and features marked by stress and fatigue, the desire for lightness translates into the need for a brighter, more refreshed, and youthful appearance. This is where Botox comes into play—it not only smooths expression lines but also restores harmony and energy to the face, reflecting the fresh vitality of spring. Over 6 million people worldwide choose Botox each year, with more than 300,000 procedures annually in Italy alone. It is not just a trend but a conscious choice for those who want to take care of their appearance wisely. Why wait for wrinkles to deepen when they can be prevented naturally? Smoother Skin, a Lighter Mood: Botox Is Also Good for the Mind If spring is the season of positivity, Botox is its perfect ally. Scientific studies show that Botox not only improves aesthetics but also has a direct impact on emotional well-being. By reducing frown lines and tense expressions, the brain receives fewer stress signals. A study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research confirmed that patients treated with Botox in the area between the eyebrows experienced a significant reduction in depressive symptoms, thanks to the facial feedback mechanism. Imagine the feeling of lightness on a spring day, when the sun kisses your skin and the blue sky fills you with good vibes. That’s exactly how Botox works for your face: it removes tension, relaxes expressions, and makes you look as refreshed and at peace as you feel when breathing in the crisp April air. Not Just One Technique: Botox Is an Art, Not Just a Treatment Just as every spring has its own unique shades, Botox can be applied in different ways. It’s not about "freezing" the face but enhancing it naturally. There are customized approaches like Baby Botox , which uses micro-doses for an ultra-natural effect, ideal for those who want to start prevention while maintaining full facial expressiveness. Every face needs a tailored treatment, and only an expert doctor can enhance it with the right balance. The Areas Where Botox Can Awaken Your Beauty Just as spring brings nature to life in every little detail, Botox can be applied in different facial areas to restore harmony and radiance : Spring Means Safety and Lightness: Botox Is Safe, But Experience Matters Just as you trust professionals for the best skincare treatments in spring, Botox should only be entrusted to experienced doctors. Incorrect application can lead to unnatural results, such as asymmetry or stiffness, while a well-executed treatment is only noticeable in the freshness and harmony of the face. Botox is not a one-size-fits-all procedure—it is an art of precision. Only those with deep knowledge of facial anatomy and a refined aesthetic sense can deliver the perfect outcome. An Intelligent Choice for Both Men and Women: Why Wait? Spring is the season of renewal—why not refresh your face as well? Botox is a smart choice for both women and men , as a fresh and relaxed look conveys well-being, confidence, and positivity. More and more professionals are turning to aesthetic medicine to improve their appearance in a discreet and refined way. Conclusion: Let Go of the Myths and Let Your Face Blossom Spring teaches us that beauty is a balance between freshness and harmony. When performed by skilled hands, Botox does not alter your features but enhances your natural expressions, making you look younger, more radiant, and relaxed. If you’ve had doubts or hesitations until now, ask yourself: how important is it for you to look as vibrant as you feel inside? Now you have two choices: keep waiting, or give your skin the freshness and glow it deserves. What will you choose? 🌸
Vivace: Radiofrequency with Regenerative Microneedles

Vivace: Radiofrequency with Regenerative Microneedles

A device that combines microneedling and radiofrequency for skin regeneration, wrinkle reduction, texture improvement, and scar revision. By Dr. Fabrizio David, aesthetic physician at Image Regenerative Clinic. Mechanism of Action Vivace is a radiofrequency microneedle system that stimulates neocollagenesis through dermal-epidermal renovation. The device combines controlled microtrauma with precise thermal modulation both at the tip and along the needle. The procedure preserves epidermal and melanocyte integrity, preventing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Clinical Indications The treatment is indicated for superficial and deep wrinkles, skin porosity, and post-acne scarring. It induces immediate tissue tightening with increased tissue tonicity and reduced erythema, with progressive results over time. Therapeutic Protocol Three annual sessions at 45-day intervals are recommended. The treatment is viable in all seasons, including on tanned skin and dark phototypes. The created microchannels facilitate transdermal absorption of active ingredients such as vitamins, polynucleotides, and botulinum toxin, enhancing their therapeutic efficacy.
Mesotherapy: Why Perfect Legs are a Habit

Mesotherapy: Why Perfect Legs are a Habit

To combat cellulite and significantly reduce orange-peel skin appearance. To improve skin tone through polynucleotides. Or to enhance microcirculation with ozone. Mesotherapy is a multifunctional technique for addressing various coexisting conditions. The optimal time to begin treatment isn't just before summer, but especially after returning from vacation. Insights from Dr. Fabrizio David, aesthetic physician at Image Regenerative Clinic. What is Mesotherapy? Mesotherapy involves injecting therapeutic substances through very fine needles into the treatment area. For legs and body treatments, these substances typically include lipolytic cocktails for localized fat deposits, anti-lipodystrophic agents for cellulite, or polynucleotides to restore elasticity to particularly dehydrated and wrinkled skin. The painless injections are administered at multiple points spaced half a centimeter apart. What conditions does Mesotherapy address? Mesotherapy non-invasively treats and improves common lower limb conditions, including orange-peel skin texture, cellulite, and water retention. When performed as localized oxygen-ozone therapy, it also addresses capillary visibility and microcirculation weakness. Why does Image recommend Mesotherapy? Mesotherapy should be viewed as a year-round maintenance routine rather than just a pre-summer treatment. Perfect legs aren't seasonal: they result from consistent care throughout the year. Post-summer is particularly crucial, when vacation benefits are still visible and maintaining results is easier. If summer indulgences have occurred, it's the ideal time for corrective treatment. Notably, mesotherapy can be combined with other treatments, and results are significantly enhanced within structured protocols. Our Skinny Legs program exemplifies this approach, combining shock wave sessions, targeted mesotherapy for edematous-fibro-sclerotic panniculopathy, and oxygen-ozone therapy.
Skin: Protect it from premature aging. Expert advice

Skin: Protect it from premature aging. Expert advice

Skin longevity means protecting the skin from premature aging and maintaining healthy skin at any age. Image Regenerative Clinic experts provide guidance against sun spots and premature sun-induced aging. Here are recommendations from Dr. Caterina Bristot, a leading expert in both acne treatment and laser procedures for dyschromia, hyperpigmentation, and wrinkles, and Dr. Paolo Salentina, who specializes in innovative aesthetic medicine injection procedures. Sun spots and premature aging wrinkles: what to do? The only way to prevent them is to protect the skin from sun exposure. Always. This is especially important during periods when the desire for perfect tanning often leads to mistakes. Image experts are unanimous about using high SPF sunscreens and physical barriers. Proper protection Direct sun exposure to the face should be avoided. While this goes against popular trends, it's the only genuine way to prevent UV-related damage. Protection should be very high, preferably total coverage. 'I always recommend using physical barriers as well,' Dr. Bristot emphasizes. 'A wide-brimmed hat that shades the neck and décolletage, areas often susceptible to sun spots and texture changes due to improper exposure.' Treatments to prepare skin for tanning 'A series of weekly biorevitalization treatments in the month before departure is highly recommended to ensure greater skin hydration and consequently a more aesthetic and, most importantly, safer tan,' recommends Dr. Salentina. Post-vacation treatment planning Biorevitalization. This should be the first treatment after vacation: it rehydrates the skin from within following exposure to light, sun, wind, salt water effects, and dietary stress common during holidays. The revitalizing complex can be customized with amino acids and polynucleotides for enhanced efficacy, supporting skin renewal by stimulating cellular turnover and fibroblast production of collagen and elastin. Intense Pulsed Light for skin rejuvenation. Another highly effective treatment for addressing sun-induced skin texture changes and discoloration, particularly effective against blue capillaries that often appear after the summer season. Lightening peels and PRX T33 peel. These treatments can be performed in conjunction with other methodologies.
All Facts About Microbotox and Babybotox According to Image

All Facts About Microbotox and Babybotox According to Image

Two innovative aesthetic medicine treatments utilize botulinum toxin in differentiated ways: one to stimulate collagenesis and lift, the other to prevent wrinkle formation through gentle muscle relaxation. Dr. Paolo Salentina, physician at Image Regenerative Clinic and aesthetic medicine professor at the University of Pavia, explains these treatments. What are Microbotox and Babybotox? Microbotox and Babybotox are two distinct methodologies. Microbotulinum involves injecting botulinum toxin into the dermis rather than the muscle, as in traditional botox. It is administered through mesotherapy using a specialized device with millimetric microneedles that allows treatment of the entire face, including contours, periocular area, and neck, without bruising risk, as the toxin remains superficial and doesn't affect musculature. Babybotox is traditional botulinum injection into muscle, but with a preventive approach, aiming not to correct existing wrinkles in the upper third of the face but to relax the area sufficiently to prevent their formation. What are the effects of Microbotox? Microbotox energetically stimulates fibroblasts, which are responsible for collagen and elastin production, increasing these substances throughout the face, including the delicate periocular region. The result is revitalized, regenerated, smoother, and redensified skin, particularly noticeable along the jawline and facial contours. Multiple clinical studies demonstrate botulinum's efficacy in the dermis, beyond its known muscular action. This dual action yields results in both skin texture and muscle relaxation. What are the results of Babybotox? Babybotox is indicated for patients between 20 and 35 years who wish to prevent expression lines in the upper third of the face. The preventive approach helps avoid more invasive corrections in the future. The treatment involves specific dilution and reduced dosages, targeting the superficial muscle layer. The effect is subtle yet effective: patients won't notice dramatic changes, but achieve a more rested appearance and natural expression that maintains over time. Clinical Considerations It's important to note that treatment indication doesn't solely depend on age but on individual clinical assessment. A mature patient might benefit from Babybotox if significant wrinkles haven't developed, while a younger patient with marked expressions might require traditional botulinum. The safety and efficacy of both treatments are supported by clinical evidence but require thorough professional evaluation and proper patient selection. The minimum age for treatment is 18 years, and each case is evaluated individually considering anatomy, facial expressions, and patient objectives.
Enlarged Pores? Quick Guide to Laser Treatments

Enlarged Pores? Quick Guide to Laser Treatments

We discuss this topic with Dr. Caterina Bristot, general medicine specialist and laser therapy expert at Image Regenerative Clinic. How do lasers work for pores? Lasers emit intense, focused light that can interact with skin tissues in various ways. Depending on the laser type and settings, the laser can produce different effects, including reducing pore dilation and improving skin appearance, without damaging the dermis. What are the laser options for pore treatment? Several laser types are used for treating enlarged pores, which can also address other skin conditions such as melasma, rosacea, and sun spots. Among the most effective are non-ablative fractional laser, fractional CO2 laser, and Nd:YAG laser, each with specific indications and mechanisms of action. Which laser is most effective? The selection of the most suitable laser depends on various factors, including the type of skin condition, skin phototype, and patient characteristics and expectations. It's important to note that not all laser treatments are suitable for everyone. Therefore, we recommend specific laser types and treatments only after our physicians conduct a thorough personalized assessment. What to expect from laser treatment? The sensation during laser treatment varies depending on the laser type used. In some cases, local anesthetic may be necessary to alleviate heat discomfort and burning sensation, which is also mitigated by cold air flow associated with the laser beam spot. Post-treatment effects may include redness, swelling, and a warming sensation on the skin, typically mild and short-lived. Laser treatment results are gradual and may require multiple sessions to become visible. However, in most cases, patients achieve significant improvement in skin texture and reduction in enlarged pores within 3-6 sessions, depending on the laser type.
A Natural Approach to Facial Rejuvenation

A Natural Approach to Facial Rejuvenation

The philosophy of regenerative medicine can be summarized in one imperative: naturalness. Even in facial lifting, it is possible to achieve natural and lasting results, respecting the anatomy and proportions of one's face, rejuvenating the skin through cells and regenerative factors of the Lipogems system. How can a facelift be natural? We discuss this with Professor Carlo Tremolada, Scientific Director of Image Regenerative Clinic and creator of the Lipogems system. Facial aging signs depend on various factors: sun exposure damage, lifestyle, physiological loss of skin tone and volume, and chronological age. If the first signs of aging are not addressed early with regenerative and bio-stimulating treatments and fillers, the skin may appear older than one's actual age. This occurs because skin can naturally self-regenerate and self-repair until it can no longer repair cellular damage, making aging inevitable. However, regenerative medicine allows us to harness the body's natural regeneration processes in a controlled manner: the concept of regeneration itself is not new to the organism, which already possesses mechanisms for repair and renewal. When facial skin can no longer repair itself, tissues sag and deep folds and wrinkles form, intervention with a lift may become necessary, which, through Lipogems regenerative medicine and surgery, transforms into a regenerative procedure. Regenerative Facelift: What does it entail? In terms of final results, the regenerative facelift combines the effects of surgical face and neck lifting with ongoing regenerative action, rejuvenating the skin and providing a naturally healthier, more rested, younger appearance while respecting facial features. Fat Cryopreservation: Planning for Future Health Fat harvested with the Lipogems system can be cryopreserved for regenerative use in the first Italian Lipobank authorized by the National Transplant Center and the Regional Transplant Center of Emilia Romagna. Through adipose tissue cryopreservation and thawing technology, meeting the highest internationally certified safety and sterility standards (TUV), the fat maintains all its regenerative cells intact for up to 6 years after harvesting.
Lipogems and Regenerative Breast Aesthetic Surgery

Lipogems and Regenerative Breast Aesthetic Surgery

What is regenerative breast aesthetic surgery? A depleted breast can be rejuvenated and volume-enhanced through the Lipogems method, either as a support to conventional mastopexy procedures or as a standalone treatment. Regenerative breast aesthetic surgery is a surgical technique that utilizes the regenerative properties of microfragmented autologous fat. The procedure can be incorporated into all types of breast surgery (augmentation, lift, and reduction). Microfragmented adipose tissue processed using the Lipogems method can also be used independently from traditional surgery to restore volume, improve skin texture (stretch marks), or rejuvenate pre-existing breast augmentation. What is the Lipogems method? The Lipogems method represents a significant advancement over traditional lipofilling. Autologous fat is harvested from the patient under local anesthesia using microcannulas, then microfragmented and infiltrated into the breast subcutaneous tissue through minimally invasive injections. The procedure ensures minimal volume loss and prevents irregularities and hardening typically associated with traditional lipofilling. Advantages of Lipogems Technology The primary advantages include tissue structure preservation, maintaining adipose tissue integrity and its vascular network. The presence of mesenchymal stem cells in the processed tissue promotes tissue regeneration and repair. The procedure is minimally invasive, safe, and can be performed in an outpatient setting.
Naturally Perfect Lips

Naturally Perfect Lips

Our face is exposed to judgments and indirect glances daily. Many elements capture the observer's attention; among these, lips play a fundamental role, leading to increasingly frequent requests for aesthetic enhancement. Proportions and Harmonies to Maintain The physician's task is to assess form and proportions, along with their relationship to: perioral soft tissues, facial skeleton, and dental arches that support and project the lips. Morphologically, in static position, the lower lip appears fuller and more voluminous than the upper lip, which should be defined with a slight eversion of the Cupid's bow and filtral ridges, maintaining an appropriate skin portion length not exceeding 20 millimeters. Regarding dynamics, an aesthetically pleasing smile reveals the entire dental crown of the upper teeth (in women, 1-2 millimeters of gingival exposure is acceptable) and minimal or no exposure of lower dental crowns. A proper analysis must consider these morphological criteria, current condition, patient expectations, and feasibility. Patient Requests and Desires Lip volume decreases with age; however, younger patients often request volume enhancement, while mature patients seek restoration of definition and firmness. Resorbable fillers are our tool to meet these requests with harmonious and natural results in both smiling and static positions, thanks to their high tissue integration properties. These products characteristically have a limited duration. Lipogems Technique for Natural and Long-lasting Results For perfectly natural and permanent results, autologous adipose tissue grafting processed with Lipogems technology is an option. Lipogems technology preserves adipose tissue structure and its mesenchymal stem cell component, ensuring optimal integration and tissue regeneration. The infiltration is non-invasive, performed with fine needles or microcannulas, and typically well-tolerated by patients. For perioral care, besides resorbable fillers, we utilize biostimulants, peels, and lasers to improve skin tone, smooth fine wrinkles, and enhance texture. When Surgery is Necessary Vertical lip excess can be corrected with a minor procedure under local anesthesia (lip-lift). Additionally, outpatient removal (usually partial) of non-resorbable products previously injected for lip enhancement that have caused asymmetries and deformities over time is possible. Natural Results Respecting Anatomy The ultimate goal of any lip treatment must be a natural result that respects facial anatomy and expressiveness, ensuring harmony and balance with the patient's other facial features.
Botulinum in Young Patients Prevents Wrinkle Formation

Botulinum in Young Patients Prevents Wrinkle Formation

Botulinum toxin, when used correctly, possesses extraordinary preventive efficacy even in the absence of wrinkles and is therefore a powerful preventive tool for younger patients when administered in small doses. A presentation by Dr. Salentina at the International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine in 2012 titled "Botulinum toxin: wrinkle prevention in young patients aged 20 to 40" introduced this highly innovative message, as botulinum had for years been considered a treatment reserved for patients with existing wrinkles. Recent news from the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, supporting Dr. Salentina's thesis, confirms botulinum toxin as a powerful preventive treatment for younger patients, even in the absence of aging signs. Botulinum toxin works by selectively relaxing the facial muscles responsible for the formation of dynamic wrinkles. This early intervention can effectively delay the formation of permanent static wrinkles, offering a preventive approach to skin care. This demonstrates how botulinum toxin, in expert hands, is not only safe but possesses extraordinary capabilities for rejuvenation and prevention of skin aging.
Hair Removal is Not a Game, but a Serious Commitment (Dr. Beltrami)

Hair Removal is Not a Game, but a Serious Commitment (Dr. Beltrami)

Hair removal (along with cellulite) is everyone's concern. This becomes even more significant as summer approaches and the desire to wear dresses and short skirts increases exponentially compared to other seasons. The Past The most common hair removal methods are waxing, razor, depilatory cream, tweezers, or electric epilators. However, these methods are all characterized by temporary results, with hair regrowth occurring within 2-4 weeks after removal. The Concept of Photoepilation In recent years, long-term hair removal systems such as medical lasers and intense pulsed light devices have become increasingly established, basing their efficacy on photoepilation. Photoepilation is a process based on selective photothermolysis, whereby light is selectively absorbed by the melanin contained in the hair, which consequently reaches high temperatures and damages the hair follicle. The practical consequence of photoepilation is a long-lasting reduction in hair count and overall slower regrowth, particularly evident and effective when the targeted hair diameter is large. Since photoepilation is only effective during the hair growth phase (anagen phase), multiple sessions are necessary for optimal results. A cycle of 5 to 10 treatments, depending on the treated area and individual characteristics, ensures aesthetically satisfactory results. Photoepilation with laser or intense pulsed light is indicated not only for the removal of unwanted hair but also for treating specific conditions such as hypertrichosis, hirsutism, and folliculitis. Assessment is Important Before undergoing photoepilation treatment, an assessment by a qualified physician is necessary to evaluate the person's phototype, hair characteristics (color, shaft diameter, and hair density) and establish the correct device settings calibrated for the individual patient. The assessment also includes analyzing potential contraindications such as pregnancy, active dermatological conditions, or use of photosensitizing medications.
Snow, Cold, Mountains... My Skin? The Windburn Phenomenon

Snow, Cold, Mountains... My Skin? The Windburn Phenomenon

Winter climate and high-altitude sun exposure are adversaries to skin health Mountain sun exposure presents an additional risk factor as radiation distance is shorter and snow reflection further amplifies its intensity. Windburn Solutions 1. Creams and Makeup To minimize damage, frequent nourishment with structured creams is essential, providing sufficient lipids to enhance skin barrier function. High SPF sunscreens must be applied multiple times daily. Regarding makeup, fluid and creamy products are preferable to powder-based formulations. 2. Aesthetic Medicine Which aesthetic medical treatments can help? All techniques capable of increasing hydration reserves, replenishing the depleted moisture barrier. Post-winter vacation, I recommend patients undergo revitalization treatments with latest-generation natural hyaluronic acid, administered every 7-15 days for 4-5 sessions. A more intensive approach involves using denser hyaluronic acid in a single session, repeated every 2-3 months. This methodology renourishes the skin to both limit described damage and maintain the effects and benefits of pre-winter treatments.
18th International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine Agorà 2016

18th International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine Agorà 2016

Dr. Salentina was invited as a speaker at the International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine Agorà 2016, presenting a report on non-surgical lifting with type A botulinum toxin. Botulinum Toxin and Eyebrow Morphology A meticulous treatment plan with botulinum toxin allows modification of eyebrow curve morphology. Eyebrows serve an important aesthetic function, with a primary role in facial expression. In aesthetic medicine, botulinum toxin represents the primary methodology for achieving eye area rejuvenation. Personalized Therapeutic Approach With botulinum toxin, it is possible to define a precise correction plan for eyebrow morphology, addressing each individual component. The treatment is personalized based on specific anatomical regions requiring modification, always respecting the patient's natural anatomy. Dr. Salentina's philosophy emphasizes maintaining naturalness and aesthetic balance as absolute priorities in treatment. For more information: 02 76280736 info@istitutoimage.com
Which Treatments to Do (and Which to Avoid) After Summer Vacation

Which Treatments to Do (and Which to Avoid) After Summer Vacation

What are the skin needs for face and body in September? "After vacation, when it's still warm, facial and body skin needs to recover the elasticity that light, air, sun, and salt water may have diminished," says Dr. Alice Sara Magri, maxillofacial surgeon on Professor Tremolada's team at Image Regenerative Clinic Milan. "Depending on individual cases and needs, it's necessary to consider the most appropriate strategy for replenishing hydration and restoring skin firmness." Recommended Medical Aesthetic Treatments for Face and Body "The basic post-vacation treatment is definitely HydraFacial," explains Dr. Magri. "This is a non-invasive advanced aesthetic method that acts as hydro-dermabrasion through a vacuum-effect handpiece: when passed over the face, it purifies and deeply cleanses while promoting cellular regeneration by stimulating fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen and elastin production." The session lasts 35-45 minutes, and the result is immediately visible with more luminous, firm, and hydrated skin. Regarding aesthetic medicine treatments, both non-photosensitizing but bio-stimulating peels, such as mandelic acid or PRX T33, and vitamin skin booster cycles are excellent for the face. Peels are applied or massaged, while skin boosters are injected across the entire face surface using very fine needles that deliver active ingredients deeply. The session takes approximately 20-30 minutes, and post-vacation, a cycle of 3-5 treatments at 10-15 day intervals is recommended, followed by monthly maintenance sessions. Sun exposure should be avoided the day after all mentioned procedures. For the body, the most indicated aesthetic treatment is lymphatic drainage and toning massages, with a cycle of at least five weekly sessions. Regarding aesthetic medicine, phlebotherapy with antioxidant substances is recommended, such as GSH or glutathione infusions - a powerful natural antioxidant that combats free radicals. The procedure takes about ten minutes, with no side effects or downtime. Treatments to Avoid at Summer's End Lasers and photosensitizing peels, such as glycolic acid treatments, are not recommended as sun exposure in the weeks following treatment can cause skin pigmentation. It's important to remember that sun exposure can occur even during normal outdoor daily activities. Consultation by Dr. Alice Sara Magri, maxillofacial surgeon on Professor Tremolada's team at Image Regenerative Clinic Milan (www.istitutoimage.it)

Stressed Skin After Vacation?

Post-vacation skin concerns often include increased photosensitivity, dehydration, and compromised barrier function. Environmental factors such as sun exposure, changes in climate, and travel-related stress can impact skin homeostasis. Professional dermatological assessment and appropriate skincare protocols can help restore optimal skin condition and address any vacation-induced dermatological issues.
Summer, Sun, Photo-Aging, Legs: Two Essential Treatments Before Vacation

Summer, Sun, Photo-Aging, Legs: Two Essential Treatments Before Vacation

Summer. Suitcase almost packed. Destination sun. On one side, the cellulite concern that lingers in every woman's mind, on the other, the risk of photo-aging damage and returning from vacation with tired, dehydrated skin, nullifying all the effort made throughout the year for impeccable skin appearance. Image The Urban Medi Spa recommends continuing self-care during this crucial pre-departure period with two essential treatments. 'Due to their speed and efficacy, these are the most requested treatments during this period,' explains Dr. Beltrami. Anti-cellulite Leg Treatment To prevent the so-called orange peel effect and significantly reduce water retention, mesotherapy cocktail is ideal, utilizing a mix of homeopathic medications selected according to the patient's characteristics and cellulite level. Since panniculopathy results from various factors, the medications target microcirculation, fluid drainage, and adipose tissue metabolism. The mesotherapy cocktail is particularly indicated during this time of year as it develops an improvement and maintenance function for legs before and after summer. The treatment typically requires 6-8 weekly sessions for optimal results. Anti-aging Facial Treatment And for the face? While using protective creams is essential to defend the skin from UV rays, it might not be sufficient. The recommendation to prepare skin for sun exposure and maintain it youthful and hydrated afterward is biorevitalization, a natural treatment that counteracts photo-aging damage. 'Considering patient requests, I recommend two closely scheduled biorevitalization sessions before departure and one follow-up session upon return from vacation, to provide the epidermis with a youthful, luminous, and hydrated appearance,' states Dr. Salentina. Perfect Legs Protocol: The Solution for Cellulite Treatment Before Summer

Perfect Legs Protocol: The Solution for Cellulite Treatment Before Summer

Summer is approaching, and the question remains the same: how to achieve toned and slim legs before swimsuit season? The solution lies in an integrated approach combining a healthy lifestyle with advanced medical-aesthetic treatments. While maintaining a proper low-sodium diet rich in fruits and vegetables, adequate hydration, and regular physical activity is essential, Image The Urban Medi Spa has developed a specific protocol combining three scientifically validated treatments for enhanced results. 1. Storz® Shock Wave Therapy: Acoustic waves stimulate natural repair processes through mechanotransduction. This process promotes blood circulation, dilation, and reconstruction of the venous-lymphatic microcirculatory system vessels. Cell membranes become temporarily more permeable, optimizing metabolic exchanges and reducing oxidative stress, resulting in firmer and more compact tissue. 2. Mesotherapy: Given the multifactorial etiology of PEFS (Edematous-Fibro-Sclerotic Panniculopathy), mesotherapy treatment comprises various substances injected into the mid-dermis, providing trophic action on microcirculation and promoting drainage, lipolysis, revitalization, and firmness of connective tissues. 3. Oxygen Ozone Therapy: This therapy improves blood circulation and cellular oxygenation, accelerating the body's repair mechanisms. It is particularly effective in treating cellulite caused by water retention and circulatory insufficiency, visibly reducing the orange-peel effect. The synergy of these three treatments constitutes the Perfect Legs Protocol, specifically designed to address cellulite in its various manifestations. The protocol targets the accumulation of fluids and fatty acids that compromise microcirculation in specific areas such as hips, thighs, and buttocks. Lipogems: Hand Rejuvenation Treatment

Lipogems: Hand Rejuvenation Treatment

Hand skin is particularly sensitive and ages approximately ten times faster than body skin. Like the face, hands are continuously exposed to external factors and often reveal our true age due to typically receiving less cosmetic attention. Lipogems is an advanced system that harnesses the regenerative potential of adipose tissue. The processing mechanism activates mesenchymal stem cells which, when injected into tissues, progressively improve tone, elasticity, and trophism. The treatment benefits hands through a minimally invasive procedure using micro-cannulas. This helps address skin thinning and gradual skeletal appearance of the dorsal area, common signs of hand aging. The procedure involves harvesting a small amount of adipose tissue, processing it through the Lipogems system to preserve vital tissue structures and cellular components, and precisely injecting the processed fat into the hand area. Results typically develop over several weeks as the tissue regenerates.
Cupping Therapy: The Holistic Massage

Cupping Therapy: The Holistic Massage

It's the latest celebrity trend. From Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow to Lady Gaga, celebrities are choosing cupping therapy to relax their bodies and more. Cupping therapy is based on an ancient Oriental medicine technique and aims to address aesthetic and postural issues. The technique works on the same points as acupuncture by creating pressure differentials on various parts of the body. How does cupping therapy work? The cups used are made of plastic or glass and have a diameter of approximately five centimeters. Positioned at specific points on the body, they improve blood circulation through the created suction effect. Various methods are used, either hot or cold, to make them adhere to the body. From static application, where cups remain fixed in position, to dynamic application where cups glide along the chosen area with the aid of oils. The benefits of cupping therapy The decompression caused by the cups is beneficial for muscles, especially in cases of muscular pain, as it promotes toxin elimination and tissue reoxygenation. Cups are also used to combat cellulite and localized fat as they promote fluid drainage and stimulate lymphatic circulation. This process helps improve local metabolism and tissue regeneration. Psychophysical well-being This technique is frequently used for relaxation as it stimulates meridians, releasing energy flows throughout the body. The stimulation of specific points can contribute to the release of endorphins, which have a natural analgesic and relaxing effect.

Q&A: Is Coolsculpting Comparable to Liposuction?

Q&A: Is Coolsculpting Comparable to Liposuction?

Coolsculpting is a technology that selectively reduces fat deposits, so effectively that it is considered the premier non-surgical alternative to liposuction. The results are measurable in centimeters. Dr. Claudio Carenzio, aesthetic surgeon at Image Regenerative Clinic, recently interviewed by Vanity Fair, explains this technology. What is CoolSculpting? CoolSculpting is a device that selectively reduces fat deposits by targeting adipose cells through a biological process called cryolipolysis, literally cold (cryo) that destroys (lysis) fat (lipo). When subjected to thermal stress (between -11° and -13°C), adipose cells undergo crystallization and are subsequently eliminated through apoptosis (programmed cell death). It is an exceptional method because it enables measurable reduction of localized adiposity in centimeters, visible after the first month. Furthermore, the adipose cells will not return, and the final result will remain stable over time, although a balanced diet is recommended to support the treatment and, most importantly, as a fundamental rule for one's health. Is CoolSculpting truly comparable to liposuction in terms of results? It is considered the non-surgical alternative to this procedure. It enables permanent and gradual removal of excess fat. As previously noted, CoolSculpting is highly specific and only targets the areas of concern, determined with the physician during the assessment. On average, a single session is sufficient to reduce up to 27% of fat in the treated area. How is the session performed? First, the device must only be operated by medical personnel. During the session, after applying a protective gel sheet saturated with fructose to prevent burns, special suction applicators are positioned to aspirate target tissues, cooling and crystallizing fat cells at sub-zero temperatures between -11° and -13°C. Skin, nerves, and muscles remain unaffected. After the procedure (duration varies from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the treatment area), patients may experience temporary tingling. When the device is turned off, the specialist performs vigorous massage to break down the frozen fat cells into particles, which are then eliminated by the body through the lymphatic system. Patients can immediately return to normal activities after the session. Which areas can be treated? CoolSculpting is a highly specific technology that exclusively targets fat deposits, identified with the physician during the preliminary consultation. Its specificity allows treatment of fat deposits in all body areas, particularly those where fat typically accumulates persistently. The procedure is also highly appreciated by men for treating love handles and offers various programs and applicators for different needs (CoolCurve+, CoolFit, CoolCore, CoolMini, CoolSmooth). What differentiates CoolSculpting from similar methodologies? The advantage of original CoolSculpting by Allergan Aesthetics is its 2010 FDA (Food and Drug Administration) certification, the agency that monitors the safety of food, drugs, and medical devices. Additionally, regarding safety, it differs from other technologies because the cold is precisely controlled and does not cause necrosis. Have additional questions? Jawline Definition: Mandibular Border Enhancement

Jawline Definition: Mandibular Border Enhancement

Contouring, redefinition, and liquid mandibular contouring are increasingly discussed procedures. This treatment essentially provides a more defined appearance to the lower third of the face. The concept focuses on emphasizing the jawline, restoring its continuity, and enhancing its definition. How? Through the use of dermal fillers or, preferably, autologous fat transfer. Both approaches employ a combined injection and cannula technique to enhance the chin-border line and mandibular angle. In lipofilling procedures, Lipogems technology is utilized to preserve adipose tissue integrity and its regenerative properties. Who is it for? The treatment is suitable for both male and female patients, carefully balanced according to patient desires and requirements. In men, it translates to masculinization, while in women, it provides definition and a lifting effect. Post-treatment precautions? As with any injectable procedure, patients should avoid intense physical activity and prolonged sun exposure for 2-3 days. Normal daily activities can be resumed immediately. Session duration? The treatment is performed in a standard 45-minute session, following a medical consultation to confirm treatment indication.
November: The Month for Permanent Hair Removal

November: The Month for Permanent Hair Removal

November presents an optimal period for initiating permanent hair removal treatments. The reduced sun exposure during this season minimizes the risk of post-treatment hyperpigmentation and allows for more effective results. Professional laser and IPL treatments can be safely administered during this time, targeting the hair follicles while the skin is at its natural tone. Patients considering permanent hair removal solutions can benefit from starting their treatment series during the autumn months to achieve optimal results by summer.

Rejuvenate Your Skin with Fraxel Restore Dual Laser

Rejuvenate Your Skin with Fraxel Restore Dual Laser

Dual Wavelength Technology for Younger, Wrinkle-Free and Spot-Free Skin The innovative Fraxel Dual Laser utilizes two distinct wavelengths based on the patient's dermatological concerns: the 1550 nm Erbium fiber laser and the 1927 nm Thulium fiber laser. This integrated system operates simultaneously at both deep dermal and superficial epidermal levels, addressing dermal restructuring and epidermal imperfections (dyschromia, actinic keratosis). Ideal for Face, Neck, Décolleté and Hands Fraxel Dual Laser treatment is optimal for patients seeking cutaneous regeneration to repair chrono and photo-aging damage in various body areas. The fractional laser treatment is particularly effective for rejuvenating the skin of the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. It can complement or consolidate results from other treatments such as peeling, fillers, revitalization, or surgical procedures like lifting, blepharoplasty, and Lipogems. Additionally, it proves highly effective in reducing post-acne scarring, improving skin texture, and minimizing enlarged pores. How Fraxel Dual Laser Treatment Works Following a thorough patient assessment and skin analysis, the physician determines which wavelength(s) to utilize. A topical anesthetic is applied pre-treatment to minimize patient discomfort during laser emission. Post-treatment, patients may experience mild burning sensation similar to sunburn, typically subsiding within two hours. Skin remodeling begins 24 hours post-treatment, characterized by increased tensile strength (tightening effect) and initiation of collagen fiber production. Post-Treatment Effects and Guidelines Unlike ablative resurfacing lasers, Fraxel laser delivers powerful stimulation with minimal post-treatment sequelae (erythema, moderate edema), resolving within days. Strict adherence to physician guidelines is crucial during the healing phase to prevent adverse effects. Post-treatment care includes applying high-factor sunscreen (SPF 50+) twice daily and maintaining adequate hydration. Initial healing reveals immediately improved skin texture and luminosity. Phenotypic changes develop over 3-6 months, proportional to the number of treatments received. Clinical studies indicate a minimum of 3-4 treatments at 15-30 day intervals, depending on the condition being treated.

Deep Draining Anti-Cellulite Massage

Deep Draining Anti-Cellulite Massage

An Additional Tool to Combat Orange Peel Skin Anti-cellulite massage is performed by combining various manual techniques. The objective is to combine mechanical-biochemical effects to achieve toning, drainage, and improved superficial and deep circulation to reduce orange peel skin appearance and alleviate lower limb heaviness typical during warm seasons. Anti-cellulite Massage: Phase 1 The massage is performed on the entire lower limbs, gluteal area, and trochanteric region, with possible extension to hips and abdomen. To combat cellulite, manual techniques progress from superficial to deep, increasing the treatment area temperature and promoting cellular exchange. Anti-cellulite Massage: Phase 2 The second phase focuses on mobilizing excess fluids toward main lymphatic and venous pathways. Rhythmic and deep effleurage techniques drain toxins and metabolic waste from subcutaneous and fascial layers. Effectiveness is achieved through the therapist's hand positioning and gravity assistance. The limb may be elevated during treatment to enhance fluid displacement and prevent stagnation. Anti-cellulite Massage: Phase 3 For Enhanced Effectiveness... The basal metabolism of massaged tissues remains accelerated post-treatment, especially when combined with physical exercise, proper nutrition, and professional cream application. To maintain continuous biochemical effects, daily application of a professional cream such as Zein Obagi Cellulite Control is recommended during the treatment period. Anti-cellulite massage is effective for early stages of cellulite and can be combined with other specific treatments such as shock waves and oxygen-ozone therapy, providing both therapeutic and relaxation benefits. Recommended Treatment Cycle For optimal results, two massages per week are recommended, complemented with home application of Zein Obagi Cellulite Control cream.
DNA Test: Tackle Summer Parties the Smart Way!

DNA Test: Tackle Summer Parties the Smart Way!

A fundamental aspect of our genome to understand and accept is that genetic traits determine the essential lifestyle aspects we should maintain throughout the year, consistently and carefully, as revealed through DNA testing. With summer approaching, along with various events featuring junky food and alcohol, our genome will not grant any exemptions. A timely genetic test is the only viable method to understand ourselves and potentially decide which elements to avoid, preventing weeks of excess from undermining a year's worth of effort. We appear to have become serial hamburger consumers. Finding one without a cheese layer is improbable. That cheese layer contains lactose, a specific sugar that, when interacting with the intestinal microbiome of an intolerant individual, causes significant discomfort. DNA Test: Watch the Carbohydrates Unique fruits, wine, pasta... A carbohydrate load that some individuals may struggle to manage, potentially increasing the risk of obesity and diabetes. Healthy fats might be more suitable in these individuals' diets... These hypotheses can be definitively confirmed through a simple saliva sample in DNA testing. No More Inflammation Our DNA is part of an even larger puzzle, and moderation is likely the best approach. Inflammation (localized adiposity results from an inflamed body working less efficiently and more slowly, accumulating fat) won't occur based on how much we eat, but what we eat. Therefore, DNA testing is currently the only viable solution: simple, fast, and effective. Through DNAMedico at Istituto Image, it's now possible to decode our genome to obtain crucial information about our genetic predisposition to various nutrient metabolism patterns.
How to Prepare for Summer to Prevent Sun Damage: 6 Tips

How to Prepare for Summer to Prevent Sun Damage: 6 Tips

Summer has arrived, vacations are planned, and the first weekend getaways have already begun. Whether at the beach or in the mountains, we seek the sun. However, we know that the sun that warms and tans us creates irreversible skin damage, visible both in the short and long term. 6 Essential Tips Stay hydrated - drinking water is the first fundamental step. At least 1.5 liters, preferably more. Include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Replenish lost minerals through a balanced diet, potentially supplemented with mineral supplements. Protect your skin from sun exposure using high SPF protection, starting from 50+ for the face. Sunscreen should be reapplied multiple times daily. While it won't completely prevent tanning, it will prevent skin discoloration, burns, and loss of essential proteins like collagen and elastin that provide skin elasticity, and prevent skin cancers. Remember to protect the entire body by applying at least SPF 30+ multiple times daily. Cleanse your skin. Summer increases perspiration, and clogging pores with heavy creams and foundation promotes comedones and pustules. Proper cleansing and using light, non-occlusive creams is essential. A pre-vacation Hydrafacial with deep facial cleansing helps prepare for vacation with radiant skin. Despite adequate hydration, skin may appear depleted and less toned in summer. This can be prevented with Skinbooster injections for deep hydration. We utilize a range from extremely light products for young, fine skin to rich formulations that deeply hydrate and nourish. Optimal timing is one session 10 days before vacation and another upon returning to address pre and post-sun exposure. For those who furrow their brow in sunlight and dislike uneven tanning around the glabella (nose bridge), eye contour, and forehead, we recommend botulinum toxin injections to reduce muscle contraction and relax expression lines. Treatment is advised at least 1 week before departure.
Hyperhidrosis: Treatment for Excessive Sweating

Hyperhidrosis: Treatment for Excessive Sweating

Wellbeing means feeling comfortable with oneself and others. However, during summer or stressful situations, sweating often increases to the point of causing discomfort that affects relationships or, in severe cases, leads to social isolation. The skin of our body contains millions of sweat-regulating glands (eccrine and apocrine). Certain body areas have a higher concentration of these sweat glands (head, axillary cavity, palms, and soles of feet) which can produce excessive amounts of sweat. These glands can be inhibited with simple botulinum toxin injections for an average period of six months, effectively treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Hyperhidrosis can be classified into three main types: Triggered by emotional stress. Related to medication use, fever, or physiological conditions (such as menopause). Associated with organic pathologies. The first type, once confirmed through medical consultation and thorough medical history, responds well to botulinum toxin treatment. In other cases, management should be referred to the primary care physician as treatment with botulinum toxin may not be appropriate. The procedure consists of an outpatient session where the treatment area is prepared and mapped using a simple test that highlights zones with the highest gland concentration. After thorough cleansing and disinfection, multiple superficial micro-injections are administered using a fine needle, which inhibit sweat release within days without posing any risk to the patient, who can immediately return to daily activities. When treating palmar and/or plantar areas, temporary numbness/soreness may occur for a few hours, occasional minor bruising at injection sites that self-resolves, and minimal swelling that subsides within hours.
Anti-aging and Hydration Protocol: What Changes with Hydrobooster

Anti-aging and Hydration Protocol: What Changes with Hydrobooster

Counteracting the subtle and progressive signs of skin aging while maintaining a strict natural look is an increasingly sought-after goal for patients who wish to harmoniously enhance their appearance. Hydration, firmness, improved soft tissue consistency, and skin luminosity enhance the harmony of facial expression while preserving the natural characteristics unique to each individual. Our new revitalizing treatment is called Viscoderm Hydrobooster, an innovative stabilized hyaluronic acid unique in reducing and counteracting the effects of skin aging through dermal hydration restoration and tissue biorestruction. Hydrobooster offers additional benefits: its uniqueness lies in combining the typical characteristics of hyaluronic acid-based revitalizing treatments with a mechanical action of stretching surface imperfections, called Hydrostretching. Furthermore, characterized by low rigidity and viscosity and high deformability, Hydrobooster integrates perfectly into tissues and can be injected at various depths according to medical indication. Due to these multiple characteristics, Hydrobooster can be used on delicate and dynamic areas such as periocular, perioral, and forehead regions to reduce wrinkles through hydrostretching effect. Microinjections can be performed with ultra-fine needles (33 gauge), resulting in excellent patient acceptance and compliance. Hydrobooster: Recommended Protocol The recommended protocol involves repeating the treatment 2 months after the initial session and continuing maintenance with treatments every 6 months. Following these guidelines, it is possible to slow down the skin aging process and wrinkle formation naturally and harmoniously while maintaining facial expressiveness. The treatment is minimally painful and generally does not cause significant discomfort for patients. The use of ice and fine needles reduces the risk of bruising, which typically resolves within a week. In preparation for summer and the associated solar damage and free radicals that particularly affect facial skin, we recommend starting the hydrating and revitalizing treatment with Hydrobooster immediately to adequately prepare the skin for sun exposure.
Oxidative Stress: How to Combat it During the Most Critical Season

Oxidative Stress: How to Combat it During the Most Critical Season

Prepare for Summer: Maximize Your Antioxidant Intake! Multiple scientific studies demonstrate the involvement of oxidative stress in the pathophysiology of premature aging, particularly at the cutaneous level. The skin, being the most extensive and vulnerable organ, is most susceptible to the harmful effects of various environmental factors that can promote the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). These factors consequently lead to the development of multiple cutaneous conditions and aesthetic concerns (e.g., wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, skin tumors, etc.). The extent of damage caused by these free radicals depends not only on the nature and quantity of the species involved but also on the bioavailability of antioxidants in the skin. Among the major factors capable of generating high quantities of oxidizing species, ultraviolet radiation plays a primary role. UV rays can attack all molecular components of the skin. Specifically, ROS generated following UV irradiation readily react with multiple proximate molecules and structures (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids), damaging them and often compromising their function. Furthermore, by reacting with other molecules, they can self-propagate by transforming the targets themselves into free radicals, triggering chain reactions that can cause extensive damage to the dermis and epidermis. This explains why UV rays and free radicals constitute the most significant factors in cutaneous damage. How Can We Defend Against Oxidative Stress? Protection against the harmful effects of ROS primarily relies on antioxidants: substances normally present in cells that can prevent or slow their formation. However, with advancing age, radical generation exceeds the defensive capacity of antioxidant systems, and ROS toxicity begins to manifest, causing significant damage. Hence, it becomes important to supplement antioxidant defenses with particularly effective substances in counteracting oxidative stress, such as glutathione, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, beta-carotene, lycopene, polyphenols, and certain trace elements like zinc, copper, selenium, etc. For this purpose, patients preparing for sun exposure are strongly advised to undergo a series of antioxidant infiltrations that enrich and nourish the dermis, aiding in defense against free radicals, preventing or mitigating signs of skin aging while providing elasticity, tone, hydration, and firmness. This protocol involves small, painless injections into the superficial dermis of the face, neck, décolleté, and hands, and is suitable for all skin types and patients of all ages.

Hair Removal that Takes All Hair Away

Hair Removal that Takes All Hair Away

While Epiphany takes away all holidays, Alexandrite laser hair removal effectively eliminates unwanted hair, removing it from the root and solving one of the most common aesthetic concerns. For both men and women, the guarantee offered by laser hair removal at Image is compelling: permanently eliminating unwanted hair without resorting to uncomfortable and ineffective treatments that only appear more economical. The new Cynosure Apogee+ laser, one of Image The Urban Medi Spa's flagship treatments, addresses this need. Hair Follicle Targeting During Growth Phase Cynosure Apogee+ is an Alexandrite laser that targets the hair follicle directly during its growth phase (Anagen phase), enabling greater efficacy as this is precisely when new cells, melanocytes, form and generate hair growth at approximately 1 cm per month. Treatment effectiveness depends on the amount of light energy absorbed by melanin, the substance that gives hair its dark color. During this phase, with high melanin concentration in the hair follicle, greater energy absorption results in more effective treatment. Variable Spot Size for Customized Treatment Cynosure Apogee+ offers numerous options: variable spot size enables perfect customization based on hair and skin type, while reducing treatment duration. Large spot sizes can cover extensive body areas in a single session. Through consistent use of this device and a cycle of 4-8 treatments for optimal aesthetic results, patients experience overall hair growth reduction, with 79% permanent hair elimination after just 3 sessions. The Only Medical-Grade Laser Cynosure Apogee+ is the only medical-grade laser, indicated for treating pigmented skin lesions, including solar lentigines and age spots. How Well Are You Functioning?

How Well Are You Functioning?

Functional Therapy: The Key to Maintaining Therapeutic Benefits People seek osteopathic treatment daily for musculoskeletal disorders, visceral and digestive issues, pain and related symptoms, postural dysfunction, physical and mental stress-related pain, pre or post-treatment of orthopedic conditions, and functional therapies for postural and functional optimization. This comprehensive approach requires interaction between osteopathy and other relevant healthcare professionals. Through specific evaluation, we can identify factors currently disrupting the patient's homeostasis and organismal adaptation. Through osteopathic assessment and medical history review, patients can be directed toward the most appropriate therapeutic pathway. During this time of year, common issues include winter-related conditions: cold and temperature fluctuations often increase muscle fatigue, weakened immune system leads to colds and influenza-related illnesses, holiday overindulgence causes general heaviness and abdominal bloating, winter sports-related musculoskeletal pain, and return to work often causes stress and systemic overload. Fundamentals for Restoring Optimal Functionality The osteopath aims to rebalance the organism by restoring full body structural functionality through manual medicine, utilizing manipulations, fascial techniques, muscle energy techniques, visceral and cranial approaches, joint pumping, lymphatic techniques, and others. These methods target endoceptor receptor systems, neuromotor units, and fascial cellular structure, sometimes employing tools such as scraping therapy implements, fibrolysis instruments for scar tissue, and cupping therapy. Maintaining Long-term Benefits Beyond healthy lifestyle habits and following Image medical team's recommendations, patient-specific mobility and strengthening exercises play a crucial role. When performed consistently, these exercises can modify posture, achieve proper joint alignment through symmetric muscle activation, maintain therapeutic benefits through neuromuscular and analgesic effects, and establish a foundation for physical activity. Face your days at 100% capacity with maximum energy, prevent more serious conditions, and ensure your body's structural functionality to fully embrace every moment of nature's greatest gift - life!
Kissable Lips

Kissable Lips

Dr. Salentina, interviewed by Good Living, provides advice on achieving perfect, kissable lips. "Thirty minutes, less than a lunch break. That's the time needed to correct imperfections, define and add volume to lips." Forget about the "overfilled lips" of the past; today's treatments utilize new-generation restructuring and revitalizing injectable materials that can safely deliver sexy and natural-looking lips in just over half an hour. The temptation to try is strong, especially since the effect is reversible: hyaluronic acid filler reabsorbs after 4-6 months, achieving the "enhanced but undetectable" result. Natural and Reversible "Lip procedures, one of the focal points of facial beauty, are among the most requested in aesthetic medicine," explains Dr. Paolo Salentina. "While full, well-defined lips symbolize femininity and sensuality, thin and poorly defined lips give the face a tired and aged appearance. Treatments can address lip volume, shape, or contour, aim to improve tone and hydration, or correct fine lines. All this is achieved with maximum safety and certainty that the filler will naturally reabsorb after several months. Unlike before, what matters today is naturalness - achieving moderate and discrete results guided not by fashion trends but by facial harmony and respect for well-defined forms and proportions." Parameters of Beauty The reference is to specific anatomical parameters that define ideal lips and should be respected. "The upper lip," explains Salentina, "should be slightly longer and less everted than the lower one, with an 18-20mm nose-to-mouth distance, and volume should gradually decrease from the center to the sides of the mouth." Sometimes requests stem from congenital defects, other times from natural aging changes. "In many cases, I treat not just the lips but the surrounding area, addressing lines above the lip border (barcode lines) or folds at the corners of the mouth (marionette lines) that give the face a tired and sad appearance." In these cases, the intervention has an additional benefit: helping the patient smile again.

Maximum Efficacy for Complete Body Contouring A comprehensive protocol, adaptable and customizable to each individual, utilizing a holistic approach targeting both body and mind. The treatment integrates advanced technologies including Lipo-Laser for lipid mobilization and lymphatic drainage, LED and Kotz Waves for lipid oxidation and muscle toning, and Coolsculpting for cryolipolysis. The protocol also encompasses massage therapy, drainage treatments, osteopathy sessions, personalized nutrition plans, and fitness consultation. Guaranteed Results The initial two-hour medical evaluation includes body composition analysis through Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis. This non-invasive examination precisely determines the distribution of fat mass, lean mass, bone mass, and total body water, enabling optimization of the therapeutic approach. The RRT protocol is applicable for both general and localized weight reduction, proving effective in treating resistant localized adiposity and specific aesthetic concerns, offering a non-surgical alternative.
When Beauty Becomes Pathology

When Beauty Becomes Pathology

"Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror; And we are eternity, And we are the mirror." - Khalil Gibran - Daily, our physicians encounter patients seeking to improve their physical appearance and correct perceived imperfections. In some cases, patients may have a distorted self-image, leading to non-acceptance and obsessive thoughts about their defects, whether real or imagined. The term dysmorphophobia (from Greek dys-morphe: distorted form and phobos: fear) literally means fear of distorted form. This disorder was first described in 1886 by Enrico Morselli, an Italian physician and psychiatrist. How does this phobic condition manifest? This disorder manifests as a distorted self-perception and completely altered aesthetic perception of one's body or specific body parts. Often, this pathology may be accompanied by other behavioral conditions such as avoidant personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, borderline disorder, narcissism, and obsessive-phobic disorder. Individuals with dysmorphophobia constantly believe themselves to be unattractive, and over time, this phobia evolves into a conviction where the individual transitions from fearing something (being unattractive) to complete identification with that fear. In severe cases, affected individuals experience constant depression, anxiety, and feelings of unattractiveness, believing that 'beauty' could change everything. Self-perception and perception of others The progression moves from self-improvement to correction or concealment, yet the outcome remains constant: perpetual dissatisfaction, regardless of interventions. The core issue lies in self-perception, which remains far from acceptable. This perception affects not only the view of unacceptable body parts but manifests as a terror of becoming unattractive and aging. Those who consider themselves unattractive tend to perceive others as beautiful, initiating a projection mechanism where they see in others what they feel they lack. The positive aspects remain unassimilated, viewed as external, distant, and unattainable. Consequently, dysmorphophobic individuals compulsively seek cosmetic surgery, which invariably leads to disappointing results. In reality, for those fearing unattractiveness, the surgical outcome is secondary to the expectation that the phobia itself will be eliminated. Perception and self-esteem This demonstrates that inner distress is independent of physical appearance but exists as a separate phenomenon. The core issue involves self-esteem, based on self-perception across five crucial areas of daily life: social, academic, professional, familial, aesthetic-corporal, intellectual, and cultural. Severe cases may present alterations in visual and proprioceptive perceptions, affecting body representation, movement, and proportions, potentially progressing to delusional states with psychotic features. In acute cases, these symptoms may develop into schizophrenia or identity disorders, including gender identity disorder, dissociative disorder, body integrity disorder, or body dysmorphia associated with apotemnophilia, where individuals develop such intense hatred for a perceived imperfect (or alien) body part that they seek to conceal or remove it.
Aesthetic Surgery and Psychology

Aesthetic Surgery and Psychology

When discussing aesthetic surgery, we should first explain the etymology of certain interconnected terms related to beauty. Beauty The combination of qualities perceived through the 5 senses that evoke pleasant sensations. Projection A defense mechanism involving the displacement of one's feelings, characteristics, or parts of self onto other objects or persons. Self-perception The concept we have of ourselves. Self-esteem The collective evaluative judgments an individual makes about themselves. Aesthetica Derives from the Greek word 'aisthesis' meaning sensation and 'aisthanomei' meaning targeted perception of sense. Beauty and Aesthetic Surgery Initially, aesthetics was a branch of philosophy concerned with aspects of knowledge relating to sensory perception, natural and artistic beauty, and gesture judgment. Each individual has their own way of perceiving reality and their body image. Patients considering surgical intervention often ask their physician about post-operative outcomes, self-recognition, and potential psychological adjustments. Aesthetic Surgery to Enhance Self-esteem Following aesthetic surgery, patients undergo a reprocessing of their internalized self-image, producing significant psychological effects. The desire to enhance beauty stems from its association with success and fulfillment in social and emotional life. A positive self-image leads to increased self-confidence and improved relationships. External form modifications profoundly alter the subjective perception of psychological and physical self. The integration of one's new image manifests externally as increased self-esteem and enhanced positive worldview. Physical well-being facilitates connection with true psychological beauty, and the authentic concept of beauty transcends fashion, emphasizing the importance of harmony and proportion in form.

Acne Shots: 10 Things to Know

Acne Shots: 10 Things to Know

10 essential facts about treating acne with Acne Shots 1. Acne shots are not meant to completely replace your topical treatments Consider Acne Shots as an emergency treatment for sudden breakouts. The treatment leads to the disappearance of the treated pimple within 2-3 days. The treatment does not replace ongoing home therapy, which should therefore be continued. 2. They are not suitable for all types of acne Acne shots are primarily used for inflamed active pimples and acne, and are not indicated for treating blackheads. The latter must be treated with Acne-Hydrafacial and specific complementary treatments. 3. Results. Fast Acne shots work by reducing inflammation of the enlarged pimple. Once injected, the medication begins working the same day: within 24-48 hours, you will see significant improvement in treated pimples, with some cysts almost completely reduced. 4. Perfect for sudden breakouts before important events Do you have a sudden pimple and an important event coming up? If so, you still have time to book an appointment with one of our physicians. Swelling can be reduced before the big day thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of acne shots. 5. Acne shots can help prevent scarring If you are prone to acne scarring, a small injection can help reduce the likelihood of developing an unsightly mark or post-inflammatory scar. Acne shots are even more effective when administered before the pimple has time to fully develop. 6. In rare cases, a mark may remain Overdosing or deep injection can cause atrophy of the cutaneous or subcutaneous tissue and lead to a depression in the injected area. While superficial depressions tend to resolve, larger depressions can last much longer and may require filler assistance to restore the area. 7. Quick and painless treatment Afraid of needles? You shouldn't fear acne shots. They can actually help your skin and make you feel much better, providing relief for those swollen and painful pimples that are likely causing you discomfort. 8. No blood or pus involved If you have the bad habit of popping pimples, you might think acne shots would be equally painful. You're wrong! The procedure is clean and absolutely tolerable. 9. The needles aren't that big Here's another reason not to fear acne shots: the needles are very fine. Dr. Bristot uses what are known as 'micro-needles'. 10. Acne shots: not just for the face Not just facial acne. If you're struggling with chest or back acne, acne shots can be a solution for these areas as well.
Runway Ready: How to Achieve the Perfect Look for Milan Fashion Week

Runway Ready: How to Achieve the Perfect Look for Milan Fashion Week

Beyond Outfits With less than a month until Milan Women's Fashion Week Fall/Winter 18/19, industry professionals face significant challenges during this highly anticipated week. While clothing takes center stage during this event-packed period, aesthetic appearance requires equal attention. Here are our medical team's recommendations for optimal preparation to arrive at Fashion Week with a rejuvenated, relaxed appearance. Botox: Optimal Timing Fashion week preparation creates considerable stress, with extensive pre-event workload. We recommend scheduling Botulinum toxin treatment at least 20 days in advance for a more refreshed appearance. While the neurotoxin takes 4 days to take effect, minimal ecchymosis may appear in the initial hours post-treatment. Given the overlapping commitments, advanced preparation is essential. Pure and Optimally Hydrated Skin This forms the foundation of any treatment plan. HydraFacial provides deep skin purification and maximum hydration. For enhanced dermal hydration, we recommend initiating a Skinbooster treatment series: providing regenerative stimulus to facial skin. The recommended protocol includes 2 gentle, painless sessions scheduled 2 weeks apart, enhancing skin luminosity and texture in the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. Alternatively, consider 2 Profhilo sessions for volumizing and remodeling effects. Last-Minute Treatments During fashion week's demanding schedule, time for self-care becomes limited. For those who've completed preliminary treatments, maintenance procedures can maximize results efficiently before each event. HydraFacial Express: Rapid facial cleansing and hyperhydration available hours before important evening events. Oxygen Treatment: Vaporized oxygen and vitamin complex application for immediate luminosity, optional combination with HydraFacial Express. Stress and Fatigue Management Oxygen-Ozone Therapy provides enhanced energy, ideal for tissue oxygenation and reducing fatigue, stress, and chronic exhaustion. Post-Fashion Week recovery benefits from professional therapeutic massage, promoting muscle relaxation and improving circulation.
Biorevitalization with Microinfusion Technique

Biorevitalization with Microinfusion Technique

Microinfusion is an innovative biorevitalization treatment that has become a well-known secret among Hollywood celebrities due to its non-invasive nature and immediate glowing effect. As a highly advanced aesthetic medicine technique, Microinfusion enables the administration of a personalized cocktail containing super-hydrating, revitalizing, and anti-aging skinboosters that are applied uniformly and painlessly through a specialized device. An evolved version of injectable treatments, the Microinfusion technique is the ultimate personalized facial treatment that addresses various skin concerns of the face, neck, décolleté, and hands through non-invasive infusion of micro-droplets of the physician-formulated mixture, using a CE-marked and FDA-approved proprietary vial. Who is Microinfusion Technique biorevitalization suitable for? It is suitable for anyone seeking to improve their skin quality for enhanced firmness, luminosity, and youthful appearance. It is indicated for younger patients desiring preventive hydrating/stimulating treatment with minimal discomfort and near-immediate recovery. It is also appropriate for patients experienced with aesthetic medicine and surgery, utilizing different concentrations of skinboosters for effective anti-aging and antioxidant treatment. What is the Microinfusion Cocktail? The treatment utilizes a vial containing a customized cocktail of ingredients including hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants, and botulinum toxin, specifically formulated for each patient. The combination varies according to individual needs. Once selected, these ingredients are mixed and infiltrated into the face (including sensitive areas like eyelids), neck, and décolleté. The hyaluronic acid, formulated in an extremely fluid state, plumps the skin by attracting and retaining hydration in the treated area, without the volumizing effect of dermal fillers. What results can you expect and how long do they last? Post-treatment, the skin appears slightly reddened and sensitive, but within an hour, it becomes luminous and firm due to the effects of vitamins and hyaluronic acid. The benefits of botulinum toxin and collagen stimulation through microinfusion develop over days and weeks. The procedure can be repeated and combined with other treatments for optimized long-term results. Sessions vary with intervals of 1 to 4 months based on the physician-formulated cocktail. Post-treatment care includes using sun protection, avoiding makeup for 24 hours, and refraining from exfoliating treatments or chemical peels. This technique effectively delivers luminosity, firmness, plumpness, and anti-aging benefits within the Healthy Attitude concept. What is the cost and treatment frequency? Costs range from 250 to 650 euros based on the formulation determined and agreed upon during medical consultation; this also determines the treatment frequency (every 2 to 6 months).
"Doctor, my eyes look tired... Is it true that botulinum toxin can rejuvenate my appearance?"

"Doctor, my eyes look tired... Is it true that botulinum toxin can rejuvenate my appearance?"

We consult Dr. Salentina, one of the leading experts in botulinum toxin treatments (professor of aesthetic medicine at the University of Pavia and expert member of AITEB - Italian Society of Botulinum Toxin) to reveal some professional insights. Dr. Salentina, does botulinum toxin affect wrinkles or facial expression? It actually affects both. However, I always emphasize to my patients that I prefer to focus on enhancing facial expression, as minor wrinkles on a fresh, rested face can sometimes add naturalness. Could you explain how it works on facial expression? In the upper third of the face, there exists a balance between depressor and elevator muscles. The physician acts as a specialist, precisely modulating the equilibrium between these muscle groups as needed. What are the results? Patients who previously complained of a fatigued and heavy appearance can achieve a more relaxed, bright, and refreshed look through the selective inhibition of depressor muscles with botulinum toxin. Is it suitable for summer treatment? There are no seasonal contraindications, only minor precautions to follow in the days immediately after treatment. During summer months, facial muscles controlling eye and brow movement are particularly active due to sun exposure. Botulinum toxin remains the most reliable method for reducing these contractions, resulting in a more relaxed appearance. At what age can treatment begin? Botulinum toxin can be used preventatively in patients between 20 and 40 years old. As I have advocated since 2012 (AGORA - International Congress of Aesthetic Medicine) and as confirmed by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, botulinum toxin can be utilized as a preventative treatment for younger patients, even before signs of aging appear. This demonstrates that botulinum toxin, when administered by experienced practitioners, is both safe and effective for rejuvenation.
Couperose: Treat it Before it Worsens

Couperose: Treat it Before it Worsens

Couperose is a condition affecting facial skin, primarily localized in the nose and cheek areas. It manifests as telangiectasias - small reddish venules - sometimes accompanied by itching and burning sensations. The primary cause is poor elasticity of smaller blood vessels which, under external stimuli (intense heat, solar radiation, strong emotions, temperature changes, certain foods), undergo dilation resulting in unsightly reddish spots and venous patterns on the face. Individuals most predisposed to developing Couperose are those with fair and thin skin, as well as those with dry skin. Menopausal women are particularly susceptible due to hormonal changes that can cause alterations in microcirculation. While Couperose is not hazardous to health, it is a chronic condition that, if untreated, may progress to a more severe clinical presentation known as Rosacea. This condition is characterized by the appearance of telangiectasias, papules, and acneiform pustules in the central facial region. Treat Couperose with Latest Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Technology Couperose and telangiectasias can be treated with both Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and latest-generation laser technology (Synchro FT laser). Both treatments are painless and allow immediate return to daily activities. Treatment with IPL or Laser can be performed year-round, maintaining a minimum one-month interval from the last or next direct sun exposure. Prevention To counter this condition, it is important to avoid direct heat sources, solar radiation, and significant temperature variations. Additionally, certain foods should be avoided while others that provide protective action for superficial capillaries should be incorporated. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Bristot, expert in laser therapy and light-based treatments.
Removing Skin Pigmentation with Q-Switched Laser

Removing Skin Pigmentation with Q-Switched Laser

Senile and solar pigmented lesions are skin spots that develop with age, particularly on areas of the body most exposed to sunlight. Other skin spots have different origins and may be present at birth or appear following pregnancy. Q-Switched laser technology generates very short pulse laser emissions that selectively interact with skin pigmentation, removing them to provide effective and rapid results. Who is it for? For individuals with skin spots that have been clearly identified as benign by a physician. The spots must be of a type treatable with laser, such as lentigines, freckles, nevus of Ito and Ota, melasma, and post-pregnancy pigmentation. Pre-treatment preparation Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds on the treatment area for at least one month prior, using high-protection sunscreen. Number of treatments required This treatment may require one to several sessions depending on the nature of skin pigmentation. Session duration Each session lasts a few minutes, depending on the number and extent of pigmented areas. Is the treatment painful? The treatment is virtually painless, with only a slight tingling sensation. For the first 10 minutes post-treatment, patients may experience mild discomfort that quickly subsides without requiring medication. Post-treatment care Post-treatment redness may occur in the treated area, subsiding within hours. The treated spot may darken for about one to two weeks. Avoid applying cosmetics and hot water to the treated area for two to three days. Patients must protect the treated area with sunscreen for at least 4-6 weeks post-treatment. Expected results Depending on the type of pigmentation treated, improvement or removal can be observed within 2 to 4 weeks after each session. Treated areas exposed to sunlight must be adequately protected to delay new pigmentation formation. How Q-switched laser technology works Q-Switched laser technology, through very short duration pulses, selectively interacts with skin pigmentation for effective and rapid results. The treatment specifically targets melanin. This skin pigment can deposit in different ways, creating various types of spots. The Q-Switched laser beam selectively destroys the pigment without damaging surrounding structures. Tattoos and Q-switched laser For the same reason, Q-Switched laser technology can treat black and red tattoos. The number of sessions varies from 5 to 10, depending on the desired level of lightening, extent, and type of pigment.
Cellulite? Time to Show Off Your Legs

Cellulite? Time to Show Off Your Legs

Today we want to explore anti-cellulite mesotherapy and specifically a new product at our disposal. We discuss this with Dr. Salentina. What is cellulite? How to combat cellulite? To combat cellulite, it is essential to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle and implement a multi-step strategy. All steps are important: from nutrition to exercise, including the application of body creams. An integrated approach combining different therapeutic methodologies offers the best results. Mesotherapy Treatment Given the multifactorial causes of cellulite, mesotherapy treatment consists of different substances delivered to the mid-dermis through micro-injections. The aim is to generate a trophic action on microcirculation, promote drainage, lipolysis, and strengthen connective tissues. What is new about this mesotherapy? This is the first injectable device specifically indicated for cellulite treatment. It works by removing extracellular toxic agents deposited due to microcirculation alterations, which are a contributing factor in the genesis of cellulite. Can areas with laxity and sagging also be treated? In this case, I typically combine the action of polynucleotides, which interact with the dermal matrix increasing collagen release. My experience is not limited to common areas such as abdomen and gluteal regions but has extended with excellent results to toning inner arms, breasts, inner thighs, knees, and other areas.
Snapchat Dysmorphia: The Obsession with Looking Like Your Filtered Self

Snapchat Dysmorphia: The Obsession with Looking Like Your Filtered Self

Obsessive Body Monitoring These individuals perceive themselves as unattractive and view certain body parts as deformed and unacceptable. This leads to significant distress and obsessive body monitoring behaviors (excessive grooming, constant reassurance seeking, social isolation, disruption of daily activities). Unfortunately, any interventions performed on these patients' perceived defects, whether dermatological, aesthetic medicine, or surgical procedures, are never sufficient: frustration persists and often increases due to constant disappointment. Clinical Manifestations of Dysmorphia Patients exhibit constant intrusive thoughts about their appearance, compulsive mirror-checking behaviors, continuous comparisons with others, and obsessive reassurance-seeking. Predominant emotions include intense anxiety, shame, depression, and social isolation. This condition is particularly connected to emotional affects and the perception of beauty as a fundamental need. Adolescence, a crucial period of physical and psychological identity redefinition, represents the most vulnerable age group. Dysmorphia: Potential Risks and Prevention Without timely specific treatment, body dysmorphic disorder can lead to severe deterioration in quality of life, numerous family and occupational problems, and comorbidity with other psychiatric disorders such as major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social phobia, and sometimes eating disorders or substance abuse. Physically, the obsession with eliminating perceived defects can lead to avoidable health risks (for example, in cases of invasive cosmetic surgery) or result in truly unacceptable outcomes that only worsen the overall situation. Psychotherapy can be highly beneficial in overcoming body dysmorphic disorder, but should always be used in conjunction with pharmacological treatment rather than as a sole intervention. Therapeutic Approach How does Image approach this issue? Image is a clinic with years of experience in aesthetic and regenerative surgery, treating patients with diverse needs: from those seeking minor treatments to those requiring more complex surgical interventions. Our physicians, serious and competent professionals, evaluate each situation following thorough medical history and consultation. If the dysmorphic patient's request can be partially addressed (in cases of evident defects), they may intervene, but without excess, as even after correcting obvious defects, this type of patient likely won't be satisfied. Therefore, a skilled physician must also have the ability to say no when necessary.
Winter is Coming: Discover the Most Suitable Treatments

Winter is Coming: Discover the Most Suitable Treatments

Why in Winter? Winter represents the ideal period for certain medical-aesthetic treatments that might not be as effective during other times of the year. Eliminating wrinkles, spots, and discoloration with Fraxel Dual laser, removing unwanted hair with Alexandrite laser, and more. Cold and icy winds can dehydrate facial skin and thin the lipid film, necessitating revitalization with hyaluronic acid. Wrinkles, Spots, Scars: Why Fraxel Dual Laser? Winter months are ideal for rejuvenating the skin of face, neck, décolleté, and hands with Fraxel Dual Laser. Following treatment, sun exposure must be avoided, and high-factor protection (50+) must be applied at least twice daily. Clinical studies recommend a cycle of 3-4 treatments every 15-30 days depending on the condition being addressed. To avoid adverse effects, it is crucial to carefully follow medical instructions, particularly during the sensitive skin healing phase. Permanent Hair Removal: Why Alexandrite? Scientific studies have proven that Alexandrite lasers are the most effective for permanent hair removal. The laser enables optimal results with fewer sessions. Istituto Image uses the Cynosure Apogee+, the gold standard for permanent hair removal, ensuring no repeated treatments are necessary: besides being fast and effective, it features a skin cooling system that reduces burning sensation compared to other devices. The laser beam, with its 755-nanometer wavelength, targets the melanin within the hair. By concentrating energy exclusively on the bulbs, it enables selective elimination of hair and follicle. Perfect Hydration: Why Vitamins? During winter months, low temperatures and cold air contact with facial and hand skin often leads to dehydration. Through hyaluronic acid contained in vitamins, deep skin rehydration is possible, repairing dermal tissue. Beyond hydrating tissues, hyaluronic acid provides greater elasticity, diminishes superficial wrinkles, and slows the physiological aging process. Through small painless injections, naturally produced hyaluronic acid levels are restored. *Medical consultation is required before any treatment. Results vary by patient. The physician will recommend the most appropriate treatment.
Damaged Skin: Time for Intervention

Damaged Skin: Time for Intervention

Photo-damaged or dry skin? It's time to intervene with the hydrolift action of VISCODERM and ENERPEEL! Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar in the human body, whose primary function is maintaining proper tissue hydration through its intrinsic capacity to bind significant quantities of water. Hyaluronic acid represents a fundamental component of the extracellular matrix in most tissues, particularly the skin. First, skin rejuvenation... Viscoderm, composed of hyaluronic acid, intervenes in the physiological aging process of the skin, whose effects include the thickening of the stratum corneum (causing roughness and reduced skin luminosity) and the alteration of dermal elastic fibers, leading to the development of skin wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid, with its viscoelastic and hydrating properties, acts by rehydrating tissues and maintaining hydration at an adequate level. This creates optimal conditions for preventing and counteracting the cutaneous aging process, promoting progressive tissue remodeling with subsequent corrective effects on cutaneous scarring. ...then tissue regeneration Chemical peeling (ENERPEEL range) is a treatment used to stimulate cellular renewal. It involves the controlled application of a chemical agent to the skin that promotes deep exfoliation and improves skin texture. Peeling is the ideal treatment for those seeking to improve superficial wrinkles, acne scars, cutaneous pigmentation of various origins, active acne, and general skin surface irregularities. The treatment is also perfect for restoring luminosity and smoothness to skin damaged by sun exposure, pollution, and stress. Protocol for damaged skin An initial cycle of three treatment sessions is recommended, with one-week intervals between sessions, followed by optional monthly maintenance sessions.
Dr. Pellegrini: How to Properly Expose Yourself to the Sun

Dr. Pellegrini: How to Properly Expose Yourself to the Sun

With the arrival of warmer weather and initial sun exposure, there is an increasing desire for a golden, uniform, and natural tan. However, this also brings a dramatic increase in the risk of melasma. Preventive measures and dermatological examinations are essential. Our commitment to skin care and prevention has led us to expand our team with the expertise of Dr. Cristina Pellegrini, a specialist in dermatology and venereology. We asked Dr. Pellegrini for advice on preventing skin cancers. Her response: "Use a quality sunscreen and reapply it frequently, approximately every 2 hours. Use SPF 50 or higher protection. The sunscreen prevents solar burns while still allowing for even tanning without erythema." Dr. Pellegrini consults at Istituto Image every Tuesday. 5 Key Points for Skin Health and Wellness

5 Key Points for Skin Health and Wellness

Autumn inevitably brings signs of prolonged sun exposure and high temperatures from previous months, resulting in often uneven reduction of facial pigmentation with skin appearing dull and dehydrated. Prevention and proper attention to photo/chrono-aging therefore lies in our ability to intervene timely through 5 key points of wellness that I consistently communicate to my patients: Cleansing, Hydration, and Stimulation When meeting a patient for the first time, I emphasize that healthy skin is primarily clean and hydrated skin; daily home care routines are the foundation for maintaining proper hydration balance. However, these often prove insufficient and should be complemented with periodic professional deep cleansing treatments using professional equipment that removes impurities and enables enhanced absorption of active concentrates and hyaluronic acid administered during treatment. Hyaluronic acid itself is a source of significant hydration and stimulation, two fundamental elements in combating tissue aging. This product, injected according to individual protocols, improves skin elasticity, providing luminosity and firmness to prevent sagging and hypotonia. Tone and Regeneration With advancing age, there is a progressive inversion of tissue layer thickness and tone, resulting in altered facial oval shape with disruption of normal mandibular contouring lines and malar prominences. Before this occurs, intervention is possible through deep dermal restructuring and, where necessary, volume restoration using products designed to reconstruct deficient regions. Sometimes the defect perceived by the patient may reflect an intrinsic skeletal deficit, and in such cases, the clinical consultation becomes crucial as the optimal result isn't merely wrinkle elimination but achieving anatomical balance, avoiding distortions and unnatural appearances that negatively draw attention. Intervention should not be delayed; consistency is key in slowing aging to postpone more invasive procedures. In addition to traditional fillers, processed and injected adipose tissue assists in this goal, utilizing its capabilities not only for volumetric enhancement but also its regenerative potential, which has become integral in managing and preventing aging processes, finding its niche in facial aesthetics. My Perspective Each patient is unique in terms of age, habits, and anatomical characteristics. I emphasize that my core principle remains maintaining a natural look, embracing the ideal of wellness alongside enhancement of personal aesthetics. "It's not necessary to change when you like yourself, but this shouldn't lead to a passive approach toward passing time."
Botulinum Toxin: 8 Myths Debunked

Botulinum Toxin: 8 Myths Debunked

Dr. Paolo Salentina, one of the leading experts in botulinum toxin administration, addresses several misconceptions about the effects of this substance, helping us establish parameters for its safe and effective use. 1. Botulinum toxin is toxic and can cause botulism: FALSE Botulism is a food-borne illness (not a risk associated with aesthetic treatment). The botulinum toxin used for facial treatments has a localized action in treated areas, and toxic effects would require dozens more vials than the single vial used in aesthetic medicine. This demonstrates its absolute safety profile, higher than many other pharmaceutical products. 2. Botulinum toxin hasn't been sufficiently tested: FALSE Like all pharmaceuticals, botulinum toxin has undergone rigorous clinical trials, with thousands of published articles and research papers in international scientific literature confirming it as one of the most predictable and safe medications. It is also used in other medical specialties at higher doses than in aesthetics, including pediatric applications. 3. Botulinum toxin paralyzes all muscles: FALSE Botulinum toxin is a protein injected precisely into muscles in minute doses using an ultra-fine needle, temporarily reducing specific muscle contractions. An experienced physician can administer this treatment selectively and moderately. 4. I can't know what's being injected: FALSE Currently, only three legal products are marketed by qualified medical companies: Allergan's Vistabex, Galderma's Azzalure, and Merz's Bocouture. Be wary of low-cost treatments, especially those priced below material costs. Treatment with products other than these three is risky. Only trust qualified physicians for botulinum toxin administration and verify the product used. Reputable physicians will always provide consent forms including the product's batch number. 5. Continued botulinum toxin use will eventually worsen appearance: FALSE On the contrary, botulinum toxin has proven preventive benefits. Scientific evidence shows patients receiving appropriate treatment (approximately three times annually) start from an improved aesthetic baseline each time. When properly administered, it prevents muscles from exercising their negative effects on facial expression and wrinkle formation. 6. Botulinum toxin causes excessive swelling: FALSE The overly 'puffy' appearance sometimes observed results from incorrect use of dermal fillers, not botulinum toxin protein. 7. Botulinum toxin is permanent: FALSE Effects are always temporary, lasting an average of 4-6 months. 8. The effect is unnatural and fake: IT DEPENDS Botulinum toxin effects are fully adjustable. As with other aesthetic treatments, natural-looking results depend on the physician's expertise and judgment rather than the product itself. It's crucial for physicians to know when to decline treatment: avoiding too-frequent sessions and maintaining positive expressions, even if it means keeping some wrinkles. When properly administered, the goal isn't to eliminate all wrinkles but to achieve a refreshed, relaxed appearance while reducing signs of fatigue.
Global Facial Rejuvenation: The Full-Face Approach

Global Facial Rejuvenation: The Full-Face Approach

How can one achieve a more rested facial appearance and eliminate signs of aging and fatigue? Botulinum Toxin for Glabellar, Periocular, and Frontal Regions The objective is to achieve natural results with a fresher, more rested appearance through various available options. We divide the face into two parts: the upper third comprises the forehead, temples, lateral periorbital region, and the middle and lower thirds. For relaxing frontal and glabellar wrinkles, we have an extremely effective tool: botulinum toxin. By reducing mobility in the forehead, glabellar, and lateral periorbital regions, wrinkles in these areas can be naturally smoothed. Treatment zones can be selected based on necessity, addressing existing wrinkles or acting preventively in areas prone to wrinkle formation. Skinboosters for Hydration and Revitalization of the Lower Two-Thirds of the Face For the remaining facial areas, deep skin hydration can be achieved using Skinboosters, biostimulants containing hyaluronic acid, to reduce fine superficial wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid, naturally present in our body but degrading over time, is administered as minimally cross-linked formulations that bind water molecules, providing deep hydration and resulting in firmer, more luminous skin. Treatment typically requires three monthly sessions followed by maintenance every 3-4 months. Volume Restoration with Hyaluronic Acid Another option is facial bio-remodeling using a combination of partially cross-linked and free hyaluronic acid to reshape specific facial regions: zygomatic area, perilabial region, and mandibular angle. This treatment provides minimal volume restoration of age-related loss while deeply hydrating the skin. Injection points are selected at bone landmarks that support facial soft tissues. Results remain completely natural without altering patient features. However, both hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin effects are temporary. How can we achieve more stable, long-term results? Lipogems Beauty for Long-Lasting Results Our institute's gold standard is the use of micro-fragmented autologous adipose tissue: Lipogems. This consists of mechanically processed, washed, and filtered adipose tissue. Unlike botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid, Lipogems allows injection of our own cells where repair is needed. Adipose tissue contains a high percentage of stem cells capable of natural tissue repair and regeneration. Facial application of Lipogems provides subtle volume restoration and intensive revitalization: stem cells improve facial skin texture, enhancing tone and elasticity with natural, radiant results that continue improving for up to two years. Volumetric Effects of Lipogems and Complementary Treatments Lipogems' volumetric effect can address lower eyelid bags, temporal hollowing, perilabial and chin area wrinkles, improve jawline definition, and correct minor surface imperfections through its regenerative properties. Synergistic use of botulinum toxin remains beneficial for upper facial wrinkles. The result is a supremely natural effect that improves during the initial months post-treatment, effectively reversing signs of aging. Subsequent treatments, such as additional revitalization or laser procedures, demonstrate enhanced efficacy due to Lipogems' long-lasting regenerative effects.
Sun: A Valuable Friend to Approach with Caution

Sun: A Valuable Friend to Approach with Caution

Practical advice to remember before sun exposure. With the holiday season approaching, the prevention of damage caused by improper sun exposure becomes increasingly relevant. The sun is a valuable resource for our organism, as it aids in vitamin D metabolism. However, solar radiation, particularly ultraviolet (UV) rays, can cause solar burns that many researchers consider a risk factor for cutaneous melanoma and other skin cancers such as epitheliomas. This significant risk factor is compounded by the undeniable photoaging caused by sun exposure. Protection It is essential to develop the habit of using high-protection sunscreens from an early age. These should be applied multiple times daily in adequate quantities, regardless of water exposure. Not all sunscreens are equivalent: research has made available high-protection sunscreens with chemical and physical filters that are also cosmetically appealing. Common Misconceptions Sun protection must be applied even on tanned skin, as pre-existing tan offers some but insufficient protection against solar radiation damage. Additionally, UVA tanning beds used before sun exposure do not provide protection against solar damage. Prevention It is important to note that the primary 'anti-wrinkle treatment' and prevention of age-related sun spots is sun protection from an early age. Therefore, the use of sunglasses, hats, and high-protection sunscreens from adolescence is essential for maintaining toned and radiant skin beyond middle age.
CoolSculpting: The Cold That Reshapes Your Body

CoolSculpting: The Cold That Reshapes Your Body

What is CoolSculpting? CoolSculpting is a non-surgical procedure for subcutaneous adipose tissue reduction. It operates on the principle of controlled cooling of cells to eliminate fat deposits. This mechanism achieves an effective reduction of approximately 20-25% of fat cells without damaging the overlying skin or surrounding structures, inducing cell death (apoptosis) with proven, visible, and lasting results. Typically, in adulthood, body changes occur through increases or decreases in adipose cell volume; CoolSculpting determines the numerical elimination of a percentage of these cells, ensuring fewer cells subject to dimensional changes in the treated area in the future. Treatment areas include thighs, abdomen and flanks, arms, and submental region, with handpiece size and shape varying based on thorough clinical assessment. Clinical Consultation As with any medical treatment, the clinical consultation is essential, including anamnestic evaluation, assessment of patient expectations, and collection of necessary data to develop the appropriate therapeutic path. It's crucial to establish treatment eligibility and create an individualized treatment plan tailored to the patient's specific objectives. Some patients may require multiple sessions or treatment of multiple areas with CoolSculpting. During consultation, the physician will indicate which areas can/should be treated and how many treatments will be necessary to optimize results. The CoolSculpting Treatment The procedure begins with a preparation phase where the physician marks the treatment areas (previously agreed upon during consultation) and verifies the exact handpiece position using a template. Following this, the installation phase begins with handpiece application and securing with elastic bands on the cutaneous area, where a protective gel/patch is applied to reduce any adhesion risks between the plate and tissues. The CoolSculpting procedure then commences, exerting suction force to ensure safe and precise controlled cooling of fat cells beneath the tissue held in the handpiece. The treated adipose cells are crystallized (frozen) and then physiologically eliminated, resulting in long-term results. The final phase consists of handpiece removal followed by manual massage for several minutes. The effective treatment duration is 35-60 minutes per treated area. Side Effects and Results Unlike invasive procedures such as liposuction, the CoolSculpting procedure presents minimal side effects. Following treatment, temporary redness, swelling, burning, possible chemosis, and in some cases tingling, itching, or reduced skin sensitivity may occur. These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks, without affecting normal social life. The CoolSculpting procedure is completely non-surgical and typically allows immediate return to normal work and daily activities. Results become visible after 3 weeks, with progressive improvement over the following 2-3 months and continuous modeling of the treated area. The session can be repeated after six months according to the protocol established with the physician or if further reduction of fat accumulation is desired.

Botulinum for Masseter

Botulinum for Masseter

Facial shape is determined by the combination of skeletal structure, muscular components, and soft tissues (skin, subcutaneous tissue, and fat pads). Each plays a distinct role in defining facial contours. Specifically, the various characteristics of these elements and their relationship contribute to making the lower third of the face either square or oval. This appearance is typical in Asian patients but also manifests in Caucasian patients with characteristic dento-skeletal conformation or those with significant activity of the extrinsic masticatory muscles, to which the masseter muscle belongs. While surgical intervention is required in the first two cases, botulinum toxin is effective in softening facial features through a simple outpatient procedure. Treatment Day and Initial Results The treatment consists of small injections on each side of the masseter muscle. After the procedure, patients can immediately resume social activities with the only restriction being to avoid chewy foods in the days following the injections. Volume reduction occurs progressively, and a follow-up appointment at 1 month post-treatment allows for any necessary touch-ups. Duration of Masseter Botulinum Results The effect persists for 4-6 months, and repeated treatments can extend the duration until result maintenance. This widely recognized procedure can also be used in cases of bruxism and, when combined with orthodontic/gnathological treatment, provides noticeable patient benefits. Clinical evaluation will identify patient issues and determine the appropriate treatment path.
Skin Whitening Infusions

Skin Whitening Infusions

The Celebrity Treatment Skin whitening infusions consist of intravenous administration of two natural antioxidants - Glutathione and Vitamin C - which provide significant skin lightening and regenerative effects. These specifically formulated infusions result in lighter, more luminous, and regenerated skin. The most notable results are observed in darker phototypes and Asian skin types. Glutathione and Vitamin C: Regeneration and Whitening Glutathione is an antioxidant naturally produced by the human body. Its primary function is to purify the liver and protect organs from free radical damage. When administered intravenously, glutathione acts as a skin whitening agent by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production. Additionally, intravenous glutathione enhances its regenerative properties at the cutaneous level, increasing physiological skin regeneration in synergy with Lipogems Beauty, Laser Genesis, and Laser Toning. Vitamin C, a naturally occurring vitamin, demonstrates lightening and antioxidant properties when administered intravenously. What to Expect Intravenous administration enables significantly higher absorption of Glutathione and Vitamin C compared to oral intake. This makes Skin Whitening Infusions the most effective and safe treatment for lightening skin tone and regenerating skin cells. The treatment is safe with no known side effects and is particularly effective for individuals with darker complexions. Treatment Day The skin lightening session typically lasts 20 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis. The treatment can be combined with other procedures such as Laser Toning (for spots and discoloration), Laser Genesis (for pores and skin tone), and particularly Lipogems Beauty. The latter is the primary treatment in the Image regeneration protocol, producing continuous improvement with results that enhance for up to 2 years and synergize with all treatments.
New: Carbon Peel Laser

New: Carbon Peel Laser

Carbon Peel Laser is a non-invasive, completely painless laser treatment that effectively addresses specific cutaneous imperfections without side effects, downtime, and with immediate results. Using a unique liquid carbon formulation applied to the face in conjunction with Q-Switch Laser technology, the procedure exfoliates the skin, cleanses and minimizes pores, reduces sebum production, and improves skin texture and luminosity. With its unique two-step approach, the QSW laser maximizes carbon peel efficacy through distinct laser emission modes, enabling physicians to perform precise and efficient treatment. While suitable for all skin types, it is particularly indicated for combination or oily skin, enlarged pores, blackheads, and dull skin texture. Technology Carbon Peel Laser utilizes a Deka Laser platform. The system employs a state-of-the-art laser combining two Nd:YAG pulse modes: Q-SW and Free Running. Operating at 1064nm wavelength with collimated light handpiece, the Carbon Peel Laser optimizes the medical properties of carbon. The procedure begins with applying an activated liquid carbon layer to the face. The black gel acts as an artificial exogenous chromophore, enhancing photoacoustic and photothermal effects in the treated area. Once the gel penetrates the pores, the laser passes over the active carbon layer, heating and destroying particles on the skin surface and within pores, producing immediate skin resurfacing effects. Mechanism of Action The 1064nm laser-assisted carbon peel protocol is executed in two steps using a collimated light applicator, employing two distinct laser modes: FR and Q-Switch mode. Two-Step Approach During the first pass, the FR laser gently heats the cream's water molecules, enabling carbon to bind with surface debris and penetrate deeply into pores. In the second pass, a rapid QSW wavelength breaks carbon molecules into infinitesimal particles. The 1064nm wavelength is highly absorbed by these particles, resulting in carbon destruction and removal of dead cells, sebum, and bound impurities. Thermal Effect Benefits Beyond skin resurfacing and deep exfoliation, the collimated laser beam creates controlled thermal damage at the dermo-epidermal barrier. The thermal effect reduces pore size, contracts pilosebaceous glands leading to decreased sebum production, and stimulates collagen production. Quick, Painless 30-Minute Treatment Carbon Peel Laser is one of the most effective methods for deep skin cleansing and regeneration. The combination of laser technology with the clinical properties of medical-grade carbon delivers superior and visible facial cleansing results. The treatment's speed and absence of side effects make Carbon Peel Laser suitable for any time of year, including lunch break procedures.

Melasma and Dark Spots: Removal Has Never Been Easier

Melasma and Dark Spots: Removal Has Never Been Easier

Melasma presents as brown patches or flat spots with irregular borders, darker than the skin tone, affecting the cheeks, temples, both sides of the forehead, upper lip, nose, and sometimes even the chest. It primarily affects darker phototypes, particularly olive complexions characteristic of Mediterranean countries, as well as those with family history. It is exclusively a cosmetic condition that often causes discomfort and embarrassment. Why Do Dark Spots Form? The etiology remains largely unknown, but it is hypothesized that excessive hormonal stimulation increases melanocyte activity, compromising their functionality and inducing overproduction of melanin transfer to keratinocytes in the basal layer or dermal macrophages. This results in the characteristic hyperpigmentation of dark spots. Due to its hormonal relationship, melasma is frequently associated with prolonged oral contraceptive use, irregular menstrual cycles due to estrogen imbalances, and pregnancy - hence its alternative names chloasma or pregnancy mask. However, despite the idiopathic nature of this condition, certain factors and behaviors can significantly exacerbate it. UV exposure, for example, intensifies hyperpigmentation: melasma tends to worsen, and in some cases initially appear, in individuals with frequent sun exposure or those who repeatedly expose themselves with insufficient or no protection. Other aggravating factors include autoimmune thyroid diseases and the use of certain photosensitizing medications such as hydantoin for epilepsy. While melasma tends to resolve spontaneously after pregnancy or discontinuation of oral contraceptives, in all other cases, systematic treatment is necessary for elimination, particularly as it tends to recur over time. Effective Solutions and Treatments At the forefront of tailored protocol development, Image Regenerative Clinic specialists have developed various combined therapeutic regimens for maximum efficacy. Treatment options always include customized topical home therapy formulated specifically for the patient, combined with one or more therapeutic modalities. Depending on the case, sessions range from 1 to 10 and can be performed throughout the year. (*) by Mathilde Bonetti, with consultation from Dr. Caterina Bristot

Do You Really Know Your Skin Type?

Do You Really Know Your Skin Type?

Each skin type has distinct composition and characteristics, requiring specialized care whether it is oily, dry, or combination. While it's true that each skin type is different, it's equally true that distinguishing between them isn't always straightforward. Monitoring skin condition is essential and preventative, especially as summer approaches with increased sun exposure and associated UV radiation risks. That's why until July, Image specialist physicians are available to perform comprehensive skin analysis using innovative Dermacheck and Skinscope instruments. These analyses will help identify your skin characteristics, reveal imperfections and sun damage, areas of uneven texture, and the degree of dermal desquamation, indicating both suitable and unsuitable products and treatments for your specific skin type. Call 02 781628 to schedule your skin analysis. Prepare for summer with informed awareness.
This is Why I Turn Patients Away (Interview with Dr. Salentina)

This is Why I Turn Patients Away (Interview with Dr. Salentina)

Dr. Salentina, you are known for refusing many patient requests, is this true? It happens frequently that patients request results that don't align with my concept of moderate and natural outcomes. I always decline these requests. Other times, they request treatments too close together, and I explain that respecting appropriate intervals is essential for achieving adequate results. What drives you to say no? I don't want to leave my 'signature' on work I don't believe in. I disapprove of visible and unnatural results, and prefer to select patients with more refined and moderate aesthetic preferences that align with my concept of 'beauty'. Do patients whose procedures you refuse feel disappointed? Certainly they do. Some have even offered to pay higher fees to get what they want: that's definitely not what I'm interested in. Sometimes, the same patients I refused have later thanked me. Over the years, I've managed to select my patient base carefully. I aim to be a guide who can advise and direct them toward a healthy anti-aging journey.

Coolsculpting Open Day

Coolsculpting Open Day

On Wednesday, June 5th, Image Regenerative Clinic presents the highly anticipated Coolsculpting Open Day. During the event, you can meet our physicians, with the special participation of Prof. Carlo Tremolada, and discover all aspects of non-surgical liposuction. What is Coolsculpting? The Coolsculpting procedure utilizes cryolipolysis technology: it eliminates fat safely and effectively (the only FDA-approved method), without surgery or recovery time. Using controlled cooling to -11°C, Coolsculpting technology selectively targets subcutaneous fat deposits in an effective and painless manner. The treatment is particularly effective for the following anatomical areas: abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, arms, submental area, and subscapular region. Results are visible within 3 weeks post-treatment, with maximum benefits achieved within 2-3 months. Coolsculpting is a non-invasive treatment that enables effective reduction of localized adiposity. It is completely safe and painless, leaves no scars, and requires no anesthesia. The procedure is ideal for both individuals who have started their body contouring journey later and those who need to address fat deposits resistant to physical activity and diet.
Hands, the New Mirror of the Soul: Taking Care of Them is a Must

Hands, the New Mirror of the Soul: Taking Care of Them is a Must

If it's true that 'looking at hands is enough to understand a person' (Quote A. Castronuovo, Se mi guardo fuori), it's essential to provide our patients with appropriate information and tools to care for and preserve their youthfulness, vitality, and well-being. Hands hold an often underestimated social importance, being the absolute symbol of gestures and non-verbal communication, a seal of elegance and sensuality inherent to every woman. Chrono and photoaging, combined with pollution and other irritating agents, contribute to the progressive process of cutaneous elastosis in hands, making them thin, deeply marked by furrows and dyschromia, with evident and accentuated venous vascular patterns - characteristics typical of skin aging. Medical-surgical aesthetic treatments aim to correct both cutaneous alterations secondary to epidermal damage (hyperchromic age spots) and the progressive hypotrophy of soft tissues responsible for tone and trophism of the dorsal hands. What treatments are available? During winter months, I recommend at least three consecutive sessions of Fraxel Dual Laser to progressively improve and eliminate superficial dyschromia and keratotic lesions. The combined wavelengths simultaneously stimulate dermal fibroblast activity with progressive increase in new collagen production. Vital Skinbooster biostimulation is a treatment aimed at providing deep hydration and improving skin tone and elasticity through activation and perceptible increase in collagen and elastin neosynthesis by fibroblasts. Generally, I recommend a cycle of three treatments repeated every 3 weeks to optimize results. These treatments can be alternated with laser therapy for enhanced synergistic effect and greater impact. Lipogems Hands: The Gold Standard for Hand Rejuvenation A unique therapeutic step with unparalleled efficacy, based on our body's self-repair and self-regenerative capacity, is Lipogems Hands: with a small fat harvest under local anesthesia and sedation, it's possible to obtain homogeneous, fluid adipose tissue that's highly manageable like a filler, with high regenerative potential. The infiltration of 5 to 10 cc of Lipogems in the dorsum of each hand can activate cellular renewal that promotes spectacular hand rejuvenation. Each medical-surgical treatment or combination thereof must be adapted to the most suitable program for each individual patient. While awaiting the personalized hands-care program, it's important to emphasize adequate and constant photoprotection of hands to slow down signs of aging.
Preparing for Vacation

Preparing for Vacation

Ready to enjoy your well-deserved rest and go on vacation? Always remember sun protection, starting with SPF 50+ on face and décolleté. It should be applied multiple times daily, before and after swimming. While it won't completely prevent tanning, it will prevent skin discoloration, burns, and loss of essential proteins like collagen and elastin that provide skin elasticity, and prevent skin cancers. Don't forget to protect the rest of the body by applying at least SPF 30+ protection multiple times throughout the day. Skin must be kept clean with thorough cleansing. During summer, allow skin to breathe and avoid occlusive creams that promote comedone formation. A Hydrafacial treatment before departure is ideal for establishing the foundation for radiant skin from day one of vacation. Hydration is essential for health and a fresh appearance: minimum 1.5 liters of water daily, preferably more, as both heat and air conditioning can dehydrate skin. Fresh fruits and vegetables help replenish vitamins and fluids. Restore lost minerals through a balanced diet, supplemented with mineral supplements if necessary. What about facial care? For those who furrow their brow in sunlight and wish to avoid distinct tan lines on the glabella (bridge of the nose), eye area, and forehead, we recommend botulinum toxin injections to reduce muscle contraction and relax expression lines. Treatment is recommended at least 1 week before departure. With botulinum toxin, specific treatment points can be selected to achieve varying degrees of muscle relaxation. Upon returning from vacation, maintain the radiant appearance achieved through relaxation by continuing adequate hydration, maintaining proper skincare and cleansing routines, and scheduling another Hydrafacial and Skinbooster treatment to tone the face.
Sun Spots? No Thanks

Sun Spots? No Thanks

Pigmented lesions from chrono and photo-aging are cutaneous spots that appear with advancing age, particularly in body regions most exposed to solar radiation. Other skin spots have different origins and may be present at birth or appear following pregnancies. The Q-Switched laser can generate laser emissions with very short pulses that selectively target skin spots. Objective? Selective removal of spots in short time periods Who is it for? For all patients presenting with skin spots identified as benign cutaneous lesions by the physician. The type of spot must be treatable with Q-Switched laser, such as: - Solar and senile lentigines - Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation - Epidermal melasma - Pigmented seborrheic keratoses - Epidermal nevi The treatment requires a preliminary medical evaluation to determine patient eligibility and the most appropriate therapeutic protocol. The procedure is outpatient-based and generally requires multiple sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart.

World Smile Day: 7 Image Tips for Achieving a Perfect Smile

World Smile Day: 7 Image Tips for Achieving a Perfect Smile

Let's discover the 7 treatments available at Image to achieve a perfect smile: 1. Hyaluronic Acid Hyaluronic acid fillers provide a more youthful, radiant, and fresh facial appearance. The treatment restores and enhances facial volumes, reduces wrinkles with natural results, hydrates the skin, and prevents signs of cutaneous aging. It can also increase the volume of thin lips or redefine their contour naturally. 2. Botulinum Toxin Increasingly used as a preventive measure against wrinkle formation, botulinum toxin can be utilized to better define lip contours and reduce perioral wrinkles. It is also effective in treating marionette lines, the lines that extend downward from the corners of the mouth, which can give the face a sad expression. 3. Vitamins Biorevitalization is a preventive anti-aging therapy that improves skin tone, elasticity, and deep hydration. Painless micro-injections deliver hyaluronic acid fragments, which activate fibroblasts, and amino acids, precursors to reticular collagen and elastin. 4. Fraxel Dual Laser For perioral region care, in addition to resorbable fillers and botulinum toxin, we utilize lasers that perfect skin tone, smooth minor wrinkles, and even out texture. With its dual laser fiber in a single system, the Fraxel Dual laser enables the most effective non-ablative skin rejuvenation treatment. 5. Regenerative Medicine: Lipogems For a perfectly natural and permanent result, autologous adipose tissue grafting processed with Lipogems technology can be employed. The infiltration is non-invasive, performed with fine needles or microcannulas, and is typically well-tolerated by patients. The Lipogems system preserves adipose tissue integrity and its vascular network, ensuring a high concentration of mesenchymal stem cells that promote tissue regeneration. 6. Surgery: Lip-Lift Vertical lip excess can be corrected with a minor procedure performed under local anesthesia. This surgical-aesthetic procedure involves removing a small portion of skin at the border between the anatomical subunits of the lip and nose. The excision design allows the incision to be perfectly concealed in the natural groove separating the upper lip and nose. 7. Filler Removal The dissolution of non-resorbable fillers involves correcting previous errors due to applications of non-resorbable substances.
