The real health revolution doesn’t begin when we get sick, but much earlier.

The real health revolution doesn’t begin when we get sick, but much earlier.

Prevention is an individual responsibility, while the State is tasked with managing illness. In today’s context, where healthcare systems are often focused more on managing emergencies than on prevention, it becomes essential to rethink our relationship with health. Each of us has a duty to act early, adopting conscious behaviors and investing in our own longevity. Prevention is not a luxury, but a personal responsibility. The State can and must take care of treating illness, but the foundation of lasting well-being starts with us. Healthy longevity doesn’t mean never getting sick, but rather understanding and anticipating. It’s not about chasing the utopia of a disease-free life, but about shifting the moment when illnesses appear—and most importantly, reducing their impact—through a proactive and personalized approach. Healthy longevity means living longer while maintaining energy, mental clarity, physical functionality, and quality of life. It’s a vision that brings together science, technology, and a culture of wellness. Biomarker analysis is the first step toward a new health paradigm. Thanks to increasingly advanced technologies, it is now possible to perform a detailed analysis of a wide range of biomarkers—biological parameters that reveal the condition of our body and the predisposition to develop certain diseases. This type of early diagnosis enables us to intervene not only promptly, but most of all in a targeted and personalized way. But how can we truly talk about longevity without starting from an initial assessment of our biological state? Without understanding the starting point, any strategy risks being generic, ineffective, and disconnected from the reality of each individual. Biomarkers represent the foundational map on which to build an authentic, personalized, and measurable path to well-being over time. But after the analysis, action is essential: targeted therapies, specialized structures, competent professionals. This is where centers like Image Regenerative Clinic come into play—a leading hub for aesthetic and regenerative medicine focused on longevity. After obtaining a comprehensive overview of health status through biomarker analysis, Image is able to develop personalized therapeutic programs, based on innovative protocols, advanced technologies, and the expertise of highly qualified professionals. These programs are reassessed periodically to adapt to the body’s evolution and ensure lasting results. A dynamic and integrated approach, perfectly aligned with the themes of the Milan Longevity Forum. The Milan Longevity Summit , currently taking place in Milan, highlights these very concepts: the importance of personalized prevention, the integration of science and wellness, and the need to create health ecosystems. Image Regenerative Clinic fits perfectly within this vision, offering a concrete and operational model to translate longevity theories into real, accessible, and personalized therapeutic strategies.

Did You Know That Skin Ages in the Office Too?

Did You Know That Skin Ages in the Office Too?

Sun exposure isn't the only factor in skin aging. Scientific studies have demonstrated that facial skin exposed to light from electronic devices such as computers, smartphones, tablets, TVs, and LED lighting ages prematurely. This is a slow and progressive skin aging process that compounds with other risk factors like age, direct sun exposure, alcohol and smoking habits, and atmospheric pollution. How Does Light Cause Skin Aging? At the beach, in the mountains, in the city, and now in the office, our skin is one of the primary targets of oxidative stress caused by exposure to solar rays and electronic device light. The connection between skin aging and oxidative stress is scientifically well-documented. Specifically, cutaneous aging associated with photoaging - light exposure - combined with solar exposure contributes to increasing epigenetic factors, which are environmental influences capable of modifying our cellular DNA. Electronic device and LED light affects the dermis by overheating it, promoting dehydration and collagen fiber deterioration. Over time, the combination of various factors, including age, cigarette smoke, excessive alcohol consumption, and time spent in front of computers and smartphones, contributes to altering our skin functions by modifying the expression of small gene portions (SNPs) present in DNA. This leads to signs of premature skin aging in both males and females, without distinction. Face, Eyes and Dark Circles: Lipogems Treatment Among the first signs of photoaging damage are dark circles and wrinkles around the eyes, as well as loss of facial skin tone. These signs of premature aging can appear even in young individuals. Modern aesthetic medicine and surgery can help correct aging signs, restore facial volumes, and address dark circles that weigh down the eyes and wrinkles around them. The Lipogems treatment represents a significant advancement, as it utilizes the regenerative capabilities of mesenchymal stem cells derived from microfragmented adipose tissue. Unlike traditional lipofilling, Lipogems is an advanced regenerative technique that harnesses the anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties of stem cells present in adipose tissue. The microfragmentation process activates mesenchymal stem cells, enabling them to exert their regenerative action over an extended period. This patented technology maintains adipose tissue integrity, preserving its vascular structure and extracellular matrix, fundamental elements for treatment efficacy.
Aging: The 6 Pillars of Youth

Aging: The 6 Pillars of Youth

Compared to the beginning of the last century, the way we age has changed dramatically, and now we understand its mechanisms. However, how we age depends on various factors, including our individual choices. We discuss this with Professor Carlo Tremolada, Researcher and Director of Image Regenerative Clinic. What causes cellular aging? "The old have gray beards, wrinkled faces, eyes full of rheum, and... lack both wisdom and strength in their legs" (Hamlet, Shakespeare). Beyond the visible signs and the way of aging that differs greatly from Shakespeare's time, some things remain constant: the mechanisms by which cells age. Every adult human is an agglomeration of cells (28 to 36 trillion), which manifest different forms of aging based on cellular mechanisms that, with age, begin to malfunction until all signals cease. Inflammation, in many cases, contributes to delivering the final blow. What mechanisms underlie aging? Aging involves complex mechanisms that activate to deactivate functions that keep us young and vital. For example, the code stored in DNA and RNA that instructs cells to produce proteins begins to 'misread' (genomic instability), and damage accumulates in both DNA and proteins (loss of proteostasis); the protective caps of DNA, telomeres, at the helix ends degrade, and DNA tends to 'unravel' (telomere loss). Cells lose their ability to recycle worn components (deactivation of cellular autophagy) and utilize available nutrients for energy production (mitochondrial dysfunction); consequently, they become diseased (cellular senescence), release inflammatory substances (inflammation), stem cell reserves that regenerate tissues are minimized (loss of regenerative function), and communication between cells throughout the organism becomes altered and eventually ceases. Inflammation looms over all of this, due to an excessive immune response, which worsens the situation. The six pillars of health and youth This process doesn't occur in a few days but gradually over years, daily. Genetic predisposition, environmental factors, lifestyle, and daily habits contribute to aging differently, with some people aging faster or earlier than others. Following a healthy and balanced diet rich in fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals, performing daily physical exercise for at least 30 minutes, getting sufficient sleep of at least 7 hours nightly, socializing, managing stress, and avoiding or reducing harmful substances like cigarette smoke are the '6 pillars of health' equivalent to dipping into the fountain of youth. However, some individuals require additional boost actions or anti-aging treatments, such as oxygen ozone therapy to combat cellular inflammation and oxygenate tissues, bioresonance to mitigate stress effects and promote cellular regeneration, biorevitalizing therapies for skin, and Lipogems regenerative medicine for both skin rejuvenation and regeneration of tissues damaged by wear, aging, and trauma. The Lipogems technology specifically utilizes the regenerative properties of adipose tissue rich in mesenchymal cells, maintaining its vascular structure and extracellular matrix intact for enhanced tissue integration.
Look good, feel good: how your self-image influences how you feel

Look good, feel good: how your self-image influences how you feel

Not only can how we see ourselves or how we think we appear influence how we feel. In practice, if you look at a photo and don't like yourself, it's because our actual appearance differs from how we think and see ourselves. Science confirms this. How do you see yourself? It may seem trivial, but sometimes just getting good sleep is enough to look in the mirror and say: I feel good, I look good. How we see ourselves depends on many factors, both internal and external, and contributes to building our self-esteem. Our body and appearance - how we see ourselves and the image others reflect back to us - are important factors in feeling good and living well for many of us. According to body image research studies conducted among American college students, approximately 1 in 2 people experienced some degree of difficulty or dissatisfaction with one or more elements of their physical appearance. While this caused no stress or difficulty for some, for others it was a source of problems in relationships, sexual life, professional life, and behavioral patterns. Look good, feel good Being unhappy with one's physical appearance can create psychological and relational difficulties that may lead to feelings of inadequacy and social anxiety - avoiding social occasions due to concerns about being observed, viewed, and rejected by others. For example, a person who places great value on height might feel inadequate in a group of tall people; similarly, someone with acne might seek every way to hide their skin from others' view. Perceiving one's body, skin, or face as unattractive - not seeing oneself well - can influence how one feels, one's mood, and how one experiences the many different moments of life in every aspect. The positive aspect is that a negative body image, a problem, or an aesthetic concern can be addressed through personalized medical-aesthetic treatments that are scientifically validated, psychological support when necessary, and a holistic approach to personal wellness. Skin Moles: 7 Common Myths Debunked

Skin Moles: 7 Common Myths Debunked

Popular beliefs and myths, widespread in the past and not completely disappeared today. This article aims to debunk the 7 most common misconceptions about nevi (commonly known as moles) and their treatment. 1. Removing a nevus is dangerous False. The saying 'let sleeping dogs lie' reflects the old belief that removing a mole was dangerous: if the nevus is surgically removed and histological examination is performed, there is no risk. 2. Nevi on feet and hands are at higher risk of melanoma transformation False. The possibility of a nevus transforming into melanoma does not depend on its location. Melanoma formation is due to numerous factors (e.g., genetic, environmental, etc.). 3. Everyone should undergo screening, even those with few moles True. This is a general rule that applies to everyone. Even people with very few nevi should undergo periodic screening to monitor the formation of new nevi and their potential transformation into melanomas. 4. Raised and dark-colored nevi are more dangerous than others False. Dermal facial nevi with pilar components or compound nevi, although aesthetically prominent, are typically benign. However, it is good practice to undergo specialist examination to verify their nature. 5. Laser removal of nevi leaves no marks False. CO2 laser, commonly used for nevus removal, is a surgical laser that always creates an incision in the skin. The incision could similarly be made with a scalpel and would always leave a scar on the skin, albeit minimal. 6. Sun exposure is harmful to nevi True. Excessive sun exposure is harmful to nevi and skin in general, especially without sun protection. While ultraviolet radiation has beneficial effects on both skin and immune system, these benefits only occur with adequate sun protection. 7. Nevi must be covered with sunscreen False. The entire skin should be covered with sunscreen, not just nevi. It is good practice to always use protection to prevent the possibility of new lesions developing even on apparently healthy skin.
Posture and Osteopathy

Posture and Osteopathy

What is posture? Posture can be simply defined as the position of our body in an upright position and can be considered at both static and dynamic levels. Our central nervous system, which manages postural mechanisms, must always be able to: maintain various body districts in position and arranged in space in such a way that there is minimal energy expenditure in counteracting the continuous compression force we are subject to during static and dynamic activities; ensure absence of pain in achieving ideal posture; maintain excellent perception and feedback from receptor structures; manage external forces correctly while preserving function; and guarantee balance and motor control. Incorrect posture directly disturbs static positioning and indirectly affects dynamic movement. When maintained over time, it establishes neural circuits that register incorrect posture as correct (because it becomes habitual), resulting in compensatory bodily adaptations. Through the activity of receptors, endoceptors, and exteroceptors, whose function is to inform the CNS, the body receives information about its position in space. Osteopathic Assessment Medical history combined with physical examination allows the osteopath to identify the patient's primary problem: if the most significant dysfunction is not within osteopathic scope, the patient is referred to the appropriate specialist for the specific condition. Everything related to maintaining optimal functionality falls within osteopathic competence. The osteopath carefully evaluates movement biomechanics, postural patterns, and musculoskeletal compensations to develop a personalized treatment plan. Milk, Coffee and Cappuccino: DNA and Our Tolerance

Milk, Coffee and Cappuccino: DNA and Our Tolerance

DNA analysis can determine whether these substances are beneficial or detrimental to our health Lactose Intolerance and Genetics Lactose (milk sugar) is digested by the lactase enzyme: primary lactose intolerance is attributable to a variant in the gene (located on chromosome 2) which, in homozygous form (CC), leads to lactase deficiency in the small intestine microvilli. While milk is a nutritious food compatible with adult human nutrition, genetic predispositions make it unsuitable for some individuals. Caffeine Metabolism Genetic tests to evaluate caffeine metabolism efficiency and Lactase enzyme activity are available at Istituto Image through the DNAMedico platform.
