What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a device that selectively reduces fat deposits by targeting adipose cells through a biological process called cryolipolysis, literally cold (cryo) that destroys (lysis) fat (lipo).

When subjected to thermal stress (between -11° and -13°C), adipose cells undergo crystallization and are subsequently eliminated through apoptosis (programmed cell death). It is an exceptional method because it enables measurable reduction of localized adiposity in centimeters, visible after the first month.

Furthermore, the adipose cells will not return, and the final result will remain stable over time, although a balanced diet is recommended to support the treatment and, most importantly, as a fundamental rule for one's health.

Is CoolSculpting truly comparable to liposuction in terms of results?

It is considered the non-surgical alternative to this procedure. It enables permanent and gradual removal of excess fat. As previously noted, CoolSculpting is highly specific and only targets the areas of concern, determined with the physician during the assessment.

On average, a single session is sufficient to reduce up to 27% of fat in the treated area.

How is the session performed?

First, the device must only be operated by medical personnel. During the session, after applying a protective gel sheet saturated with fructose to prevent burns, special suction applicators are positioned to aspirate target tissues, cooling and crystallizing fat cells at sub-zero temperatures between -11° and -13°C.

Skin, nerves, and muscles remain unaffected.

After the procedure (duration varies from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the treatment area), patients may experience temporary tingling. When the device is turned off, the specialist performs vigorous massage to break down the frozen fat cells into particles, which are then eliminated by the body through the lymphatic system. Patients can immediately return to normal activities after the session.
