Buttocks: The Cold That Helps

Silhouette magazine's July issue discusses Image and CoolSculpting.

THE COLD THAT HELPS

Sometimes improving the buttocks requires addressing issues with its contours. This is where solutions capable of reshaping silhouette profiles, such as saddlebags, come into play. Among the innovations is CoolSculpting by Zeltiq, based on cryolipolysis. "The technology, intended as a non-surgical liposculpture, targets and cools cells to temperatures that trigger adipocyte death (apoptosis), without damaging surrounding tissues (fat lipids crystallize at a higher temperature than water contained in other cells). After treatment, up to 24% of fat cells in the treated area are eliminated, reducing adipose layer thickness," explains Professor Carlo Tremolada, surgeon specialized in maxillofacial surgery.

CoolSculpting treatment is particularly effective for localized areas of fat accumulation resistant to diet and exercise. The procedure is non-invasive, requires no anesthesia, and allows quick return to normal daily activities. Final results are visible within 2-4 months, the time required for the body to naturally eliminate treated fat cells.
