Lip lift or lip lifting
The lip lift, or lip lifting, focuses on the upper part of the mouth, and is one of the most requested treatments. This minimally invasive operation of the upper lip is an in-office surgical procedure performed under local anaesthesia. It involves removing a micro-portion of skin, shortening the space between the columella (base of the nose) and the vermilion border (upper lip line). The way this is performed allows the incision to be perfectly hidden in the natural groove that separates the upper lip from the nose, meaning the scars will be microscopic and invisible.
When to perform the lip lift
This surgery is particularly requested by patients over 40 years of age because, from around this time, the aging process can create elongation and loss of tone of the upper lip. In other words, the elasticity of the so-called red border also decreases, with a reduction in the visibility of the upper incisors while smiling.
An upper lip lifting operation can also be performed in younger patients to correct any somatic defects; moreover, they are recommended even in cases of lip filler abuse.
Lip lift results
The consequence of having a lip lift is an immediate rejuvenation and evident improvement of the smile, with optimal exposure of the upper teeth. This operation allows the eversion of the vermilion, making the whole face more harmonious and regenerated. Lip lift is often performed in tandem with other facial cosmetic procedures, such as blepharoplasty, face lifting or Lipogems® system.

The main indicator for lip lifting is excessive length of the upper lip and loss of exposure of the upper incisors, but it is also a very effective remedy for correcting the effects of lip filler abuse. The upper lip is lifted and rejuvenated; the smile improved.

In the case of a visible scar, once it has healed completely, one or more sessions of Laser Fraxel Dual or Fractional CO2 Laser can resolve the issue.
Duration
A stay in the clinic of a few hours should be expected. The surgery itself takes 30 minutes.
